ECU Toast?... Input Requested
ECU Toast?... Input Requested
Hey Guys,
Looking for a little input to see if my ECU is toast.
Little background:
Dropped the car off to get engine built and they mentioned that there appeared to be an exposed wire for the crank sensor that sparked when they were pulling the car apart. Once motor was put back together and installed, original ECU (2003) refused to let you read/write. I went to pick up the car and see if I could figure out what the issue was w/ my original ECU. We tracked down a blown fuse underhood and I was finally able to read/write to my original ECU once we replaced the fuse.
Current Issue:
Car will attempt to turnover, but it sounds like the fuel pump isn't being triggered to send fuel. I swap over to their loaner ECU (2005) and it fires right up w/ the same ROM loaded. I've disabled the immobilizer via periphery bits thinking that may have been the issue, no luck. Not sure what else to test out and I'm thinking my original ECU went bad since the same ROM image works fine on the loaner 2005 ECU.
Any other ideas that I might be forgetting would be appreciated

I haven't, but the ROM image previously worked on that ECU before dropping the car off. I tried all the variations for immobilizer hex code and also diabled the periphery. I also tested that the immobilizer being disabled worked on the 2005 ECU by changing the hex to the wrong year and reflashing. I could try going back to a 94170015 SD version I ran a long time ago to see if it fires. The 2003 & 2005 ECU's/ROMs are so similar which has me thinking it may be an issue w/ the ECU.
I had a blown mirror heater fuse that kept me from flashing the ecu. I have an RS too, but it was that fuse that kept me from flashing the car. Check all the random fuses, because not all really do what they're labled to do
