what abt changing the treshold where the car transitions from closed loop to open loop? Maybe make the transition lower?

Could be an idea mate, but i was under the impression that it only does that for fuel, timing is always referenced from the timing map

It's a little hard to tell without the fuller log, but it appears to me that some of it may be caused by fuel. In some cases, with a light tip in the car is hitting 90-100 load at around 14.7 (coming out of closed loop) and knocking. In others, you are harder on the throttle (~45%), which may put your car into open loop, and the AFR is much richer (~11-12) -- perhaps enough to trigger knock as a result of the fuel map being too rich there. I'd perhaps lower your open loop point to around 80 load in the problem range and tune your fuel table so that you don't have an abrupt richening when you tip in. If you've pulled a lot of timing out, I'd put it back and get the fuel AFR correct first before retarding that. Keep note of when you are in open and closed loop and what the trigger points are (load and TPS), so that you know when looking at your logs what's happening and when the fuel map is being used and when you are just seeing transitions from closed loop.

really good info mate i appreciate it.

Im in the process of borrowing someones cable over the coming weekend to do some intensive logging and tuning for this issue, ill post the logs with AFR etc then.

My cable doesnt seem to like logging and im current chasing a replacement

Oh and when i reduced timing and made no difference i added it back in

Ok so what if i was to turn closed loop of and just tune as if it was a Haltech say with no closed loop control, i dont mind doing that and it could eliminate the issue im having.

Here is a snap shot of my fuel map, it doesnt seem to be too aggressive.

Ok so i disabled closed loop control, that was all good got the car to idle great nice lope and drove good, while i was cruising around the AFR was around 12-13 so i slowed down to about 2000 and punched it same issue, CEL was flashing detecting knock.

I actually like running the car in full open loop i like having the control even when the car is cruising.

So what im thinking about trying is leaving closed loop disabled

Remove some timing in the areas as boost comes on and smooth it out, as well add some fuel.

Im going to try and log it this weekend with my friends cable.

I really want to install a GM 3 Bar Map sensor to my ADM Evo 8 but i cant find any specific instructions grrrrr

Any other thoughts before i start logging over the weekend?

If i punch it after 3k rpm i get no knock at all

There's nothing special that needs to be done for the ADM VIII (EDM 260) to be able to log boost using a GM 3 bar sensor, or JDM, Omni, etc... Just plug the wires in and it works.

I used ecu pin 73 for the 5V ADC input and then tapped into one of the 5V power and ground wires. Evoscan needs to have a formula applied to output the signal to PSI, so I used the following for the GM 3 bar:

psig = x*0.17886 + 0.161 - 14.5

Then fine tuned the final figure so I was reading 0psi with the ignition on.

Im going to be logging today, I added fuel down low where Max Torque is and it seems to have helped a lot, knock is not as repetitive.

Anyway log log log today is what ill be doing lol
