I haven't touched them mate, I just uploaded 'cossie1's 90550001 map with 5.10 mods off Geek Mapped onto it and did a few pulls, its not knocking much at all, 1-3 really, but is still running decent timing.

Benja when doing pulls start from a 3rd gear roll at 2500rpm and then go wide open throttle and lift at 7500rpm. heres new timing map load this rom and report back with log.. also I didnt see no wideband being logged in the rom so i didnt touch the a/f.

ill tell you right now his timing map was dangerous for your vehicle. read the post above and report back and we will go from there. should beable to get close to 300whp out of it as is. i cant see your peak torque area in the log thats why you must start pulls at 2500 rpm so i can see when the turbo hits full boost / peak torque area.

The reason his map was so dangerous for YOU, is because your car is dropping off to 130-140 load at redline and on his map there is 22-24* or so, i dont remember. either way that map is probably great for his car, but dangerous for yours.. so the new map I sent you should be 100x safer. now just get back to me with the logs.

That 61 setting in the mid is stil VERY dangerous! That should be set at least to 24. I think its at least worth to define to table yourself so you can knock it down to see what happens.

On a side note @ Hideki:
Thanks for the picture man that was a little wierd. I've never seen a folder like that before.

actually Benja go with this one first. Pulled some timing at spool..

Also for the rest - I dont see no knock multiplier stuff in the xml he gave me, i doubt people changed that stuff.. His car IS knocking, so that tells me its all default and good to go.

The thing is that the ECU may be only registering a whole lot less knock than it should. On the EVO 8's the knock multiplier - mid RPM settings show 18. A 61 means its ignoring a hell of a lot of knock.

Hideki, do you have the knock load thresholds defined?

i guess my base 7 xml has alot of crap in it lol. thats why i noticed it.. it just seems very odd that the mid rpm is 61 thats all. if its the stock setting then kool.

ya i understand that. I dont think someone would put 61 though and not change the rest. I think its a XML screwup on his computer and its distorting the rom table values. If it was really 61 it would never show knock.. the motor could blow up and the knock sensor still wont go off lol.

but either way im helping him now, and honestly i can tune without a knock sensor.. if you know what to look for in timing activity you dont need a knock sensor.. but of course in this case it would be really stupid not to utilize it if its there.

im curious about this 61 though myself now.. im going to check his log again and if theres no knock there and everywhere else then we have our answer with the 61.
