How much boost?

Hi I have an Evo 6 that I've been tuning today.

Fuelling is 13.5 to 11.5 at red line.
Boost peaks at 1.5 bar and tails off to 1.1bar, this is using an AVCR which is maxed out at 90% I thought I would be able to get more out of this, is it normal for it to taper off so low?)

car makes 330hp and 300lbs on the dyno, mostly standard except for exhaust and hks panel filter, is this about right or should it make more?

as for your boost tapering so low i am not sure on your turbo but on the evo 8 & 9 they typically taper down from 21-24psi. i would suggest doing a boost leak test to see if you have a boost leak. but as for the hp it sounds just about right.

+1 on the leak test. zip tie all of your lines. Make surt you have the AVC-R set up correctly. I run 30psi with my AVC-R and my duty is only at 64%.

Your WGA will make a difference too. To get it to hold boost better up top, make an WGA adjustment (make it tighter).

Thanks guys, will check tomorrow. I thought about adjusting the WGA but it looks like there's only a couple of threads of adjustment, but will try it after looking for leaks.

What mods would I have to do to get it over 350hp?

Appauldd, do you know how much boost you make with your AVCR set off?

To get over 350 on an Evo 6 you really only need the basic bolt ons, cams, and a mild turbo upgrade, and a good TUNE. e85, race gas, or meth will make it much, much easier.

The AVC-R will run wastegate pressure if it is turned off. In my case it is about 18-19 psi because of my 18psi WGA.

Thanks for the advice, appreciate it.

Which cams and turbo would you recommend, car is used for everyday driving so don't want it to be too lumpy and laggy?

For a turbo....the cost effective way would be to get a 9 turbo with 10.5 single puck hot side. You can get them for about 400 bucks on here. A ported stainless 02 housing and ported hot side just makes sense too. These can get you where you want to be.

As for cams...Kelford 272s are the popular choice. The Buschur BF 272s are also pretty good. Both will give you a noticable lope though. More mild cams like HKS 272s will help, but the gains are no where near as significant. Search aroung on here...there is TONS of information about cams. AMS even did a cam review with dyno plots.

The lope won't really matter as long as you raise the base idle rpm to about 950 rpm and increase the idle timeing a few degrees. This will negate the lope in most cases.
