New to Evo tuning.
New to Evo tuning.
1st thing, yes i did search and have done quite a bit of reading, but id rather hear it from people mouth than read it.
2nd, im not neccisarrly new to tuning, ive tuned quite a few hondas (turbo, NA mostlly) in my day. Those are all speed density systems so watching MAF Grams/PS. Im still very reserved to starting to tune my evo. I really just want to know for people that tried their own tune, would you have rather taken it some where? I live close to AMS so im kind of thinking about saying screw it and just take it there. Sorry if this crap has already been talked about. I wouldnt say im stingy but im trying to build 2 cars right now so im also tryn to cut costs every where.
I guess im just looking for reassurance about doing my own tune.
My evo isnt extremelly modded, but is in DIRE need of a tune.
10.8 hotside IX turbo
Megan tubular manifold
255 fuel pump
UICP & LICP (injen)
Intake pipe
Apexi boost controller
3inch turbo back exhaust
AMS intercooler
Forge RS Diverter valve.
And some other misc crap

Do you already have everything you need to log and tune the car? If you do, I'd recommend giving it a shot yourself, just start with logging the car and make small changes at a time. If you aren't sure about what you're doing, there are plenty of people here willing to help you out.
what ur email i, just put the ecuflash on youtube all together so u dont have watch on youtube anymore. Now u can have the vid on ur computer and have it with u.
There is tonz of great info in there

Try doing a few logs and study them. I started by studying the thread on how to tune an evo, but had to adjust a few things before even doing that due to using the Evo ECU in my 2g. That thread is a good start but it's outdated. Once you get the basics, you can pretty much take it over from there and ask as you go along.
