bought evo, Rom on car

Hey i bought my evo a few months ago but ended up taking it right back in for some warranty work, a transmission, transfercase, rear diff, and driveshaft later i finally got it back. Pulled the rom and this is what i found. I am not a tuner but i have done a little reading about it from when i owned my oz rally but these timing maps look sloppy to me. only mods are TBE, MBC, and a cone filter. It is at 20-22psi according to the boost gauge it came with. Havent done any logs because i dont own a wideband yet. Just wanted to see what you guys think about these tables or if you see any adjustments i should make off the bat.

Planning on getting another MBC because this one is cheap and rusted, and a walbro before i go get a professional to tune it. just wanted some feedback from the evoM community.

Don't like the look of that fuel map in the low load high rpm section but likely it wont harm the motor since it will be at pratically no boost in that lean area.

The timing map definition isn't right you need to edit the definition and check the box for swap XY so it appears correctly. Can't even tell you how it looks without that step.

Edit:
I can tell that the timing map is the infamous block o 8's probably runs really rich and thats how its adjusted to the timing. I would recommend a retune for sure plenty of choices around.

that timing map is crap

i wouldnt even drive the car personally

it really depends on what load columns your hitting truthfully, but its certainly a blocked tune with super rich fuel areas to cover up for bad timing.

so my car is way slower than it should be huh. I'm getting tuned soon, should I revert back to the stock boost solenoid and flash a stock ignition and fuel map back on ?

DO not get on it at all, it's not safe! That's the worst timing map I think I have ever Seen. It's running way to much timing in lower rpm's and higher loads! Look up vr speed factory, Tom will take care of you

wow , that bad huh. so do I simply reroute the vac lines to the stock solenoid and flash the stock maps back and I'll be good to go?

I'm already scheduled for a tune but it's in a couple of weeks after school gets out so until then I'd like to at least get some better gas mileage for the 4 hour drive to the tuner.

Ah crap I see now its not the box being unchecked its the number of rows being off

Add 2 to the number of rows, Y axis, and it should look better. Recheck the box as well you should end up with a a small block of 5's in the upper left hand corner.

I hope you haven't floored it lol.

Just like others have said go back to stock ASAP!

I'm surprised he didn't just try to make a Smiley face out of the cells.

easiest solution is just back your MBC all the way out and dont get on it. the boost cells are garbage on there.

BEST solution load a stock map and back out the mbc in my opinion, so you are very safe.

this is a decent example of what your timing should look like (of course its my map so i wont go as far as saying its good lol)
