Adjusting rev-up at start

I've got an '03 VIII with Tephra v7, running E85, and I'm looking to change the rev-up when the car is at operating temp.

When it's cold, it starts fine, but when it starts hot, it's all stumbly and sometimes dies immediately after catching. The solution I've found is to manually give it ~5% throttle when I turn the key, and it starts great, so I'm looking to implement that into the ROM with around a 1500rpm rev-up such as what it would do on a cold start.

I'm guessing the table to edit would be the "Desired ISCV initial step position with A/C off - neutral", and that the goal would be to set the steps relatively the same or at least higher across the board as the lower temps, correct?

How exactly does it behave when it starts? Does it rev up to ~1200 rpm for a fraction of a second and then almost stall, or does it simply not rev enough when it starts?

It doesn't rev up enough, it catches and then stumbles around at ~500rpm before coming up to target idle (898).

I did try adjusting the initial ISCV steps tables, but they also affect normal idle as well, so I got my rev-up, but the car then idled at 1300rpm, which is obnoxious and far from ideal.

Ok, if they don't raise enough just as it starts it should be the startup ISCV table that needs to be adjusted. It isn't defined in Tephra so you'll need to check the thread below to see if the tables are defined for your rom. The tables in the OP are for 88590015, so not you since you have an VIII.

Have you tried manually adding more air via the screw near the TPS?

So this is just a starting issue? Once it's running, you can rev it and it returns to idle just fine, right.

The BISS is the last thing I would mess with at this point.

Not to thread hi-jack... but I've got a similar issue

Tuned on e85 right now and my warm start up is pretty crappy...

When the engine is cold it starts right up, jumps up to about 1500-2k rpm and makes its way down to idle which is around 1000 after like 30 seconds or so...

However, if I shut the car off and try to start it a few minutes later the rpms won't jump up, and it'll either die right away or it'll idle at about 500 rpm for a bit, then jump up to 1000 rpm.

It was really bad when the weather was hotter too

Is this car on speed density or MAF?

It is MAF with a recirc Synapse DV

I have a video of it happening if anyone is interested in seeing it. Basically, it died 3 times when I tried to start it, then the last time I start the car I gave it a little throttle and it started up.

For the warm start issue, you need to either add or reduce fuel at the coolant temp where it is having trouble in this table, "Injector Cranking Enrichment IPW Adder (Main)"
