Tephra NLTS Problem - Have searched.

I attempted this i had problems.... everything was on the stock setting, all i did was tick the BOX in tephra v.5.1 to activate it.
Ill describe as best i can what happens. and asap ill get a video up if i cant fix it... So basically, i Go for a drive and as soon as my car hit the load limit it was set at (150%?) it just hit a brick wall (LIKE VALET MODE)

Now from searching and reading as much as i can, people at this point would say, im just touching the brake switch, and its very sensitive....
BUT !
my foot is on the floor when this is happening....

aslong as the car wasnt at the load level, it would behave normal.....
but if i was around 1/2 3/4 throttle, for example.... 1st gear it would go to say 4000 then hit a brick wall. 2nd gear was around 3300ish 3rd gear 2600ish and so on...

so i hopped underneath the dash to check the switch adjustment and i could only see once clutch switch???? I have an JDM evo8 MR
according to the JAP parts finder, there are two, but according to my VIN, it only was supplied with the one circled, NOT the other one aswell???

I have read that this operates off the top clutch switch which JDMS do not have.....

- I did the driveway test....
set speed 0km
set TPS 20%
set load 0%
Set RPM drop 1000

Rev car to 2500 (or anything)
push clutch and the rpms just stay @2500 (or what i have it at)

EDIT:

STEPS :
Obtain a switch so when the clutch is pushed in, the circuit is complete.... i believe it would be a N/C switch or Momontary on?
And is the wiring as so:

Switch terminal 1: - #88 or #43 (unsure) on ecu
switch terminal 2: - GROUND

then just activate NLTS on tephra...
set your data for TPS,SPEED,LOAD & RPM DROP then your good to go?

unknown:
do you need to change XMLS and stuff???

Currently my INTERNAL ROM ID IS
"962600009 & 96260012 TEPHRA V5.1"

Thanks....

IIRC there was problem with NLTS in 9626 rom. Ask HyperDisorder, he should have fix for this issue.

I have the same problem, JDM evo 8, doesn't have upper swtich, can't use the NLTS

If you find a way to activate it, let me know

so some further searching, i discovered you need to wire in a switch to pin #88 or #43 (unsure) of the ECU and change some XML stuff....

but as to what you need to change/add, i have no idea...
will continue looking and update....

i cant believe this hasnt been covered.....

EDIT :
FIRST POST UPDATED>..

the wiring as so:

Switch terminal 1: - #88 or #43 (unsure) on ecu????
switch terminal 2: - GROUND

Currently my INTERNAL ROM ID IS
"962600009 & 96260012 TEPHRA V5.1"

Will update when i get a switch to test it out on.....

unsure if any XMLS need to be changed and what not...... as im not that knowledgable in this stuff yet.

I think it makes more sense if the switch circuit is always complete (pin #43 grounded) disconnecting when clutch pedal is pushed, thus hitting the lower (NLTS) rev limit.

Pin 43 on a jdm 8mr is the crank angle sensor........
I'm not sure how to go about this....
Obviously I need a normally open mom push switch,
wire it to the ecu in a free input...
But I'm insure on the code in the xml to change.....

I ran into the same issue. I ran a 5 pin relay to basically invert the ground signal from the clutch switch.

You dont need a relay if you get a normally open mom push type switch.....

Hey guys,

I have NLTS working for 8's with 3 ECU plugs. I've had a quick look at your rom Prolifik, and the fix that I applied won't directly work with your rom. So as it stands, this fix is only for Tephramod V7. I can't guarantee getting it working for 5.1, especially since it was d1kid who worked out the code a lot more than me for this fix.

Wire up pin 88 to a clutch switch and ground the other lead for a start though.

I'll share the fix once I do some final testing on it - I'll get onto it tomorrow. There hadn't been any interest in the fix until now, so I hadn't bothered to get round to it even though I've had the fix for months!

I'm using Tephra V7, if you could post what you did to make it work

There is some interest on this, there are a few post trying to make it work

Drumroll.....

Add the following to the 96260709 xml:

<!-- NLTS Edits for 96260709 with 3-plug ECU's -->

<table name="Set to D0D0 for NTLS. Originally D0CB" address="3E314" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="Set to C802 for NTLS. Originally C801" address="3E318" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="Set to E000 for NTLS. Originally D092" address="3E40E" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="Set to 8895 for NTLS. Originally 8950" address="3E65A" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

I did make a minor change to the code yesterday when I tested having the Alt maps option set to ADC0F instead of AutoICS in the Tephra Mod Options.

Changing to Alt maps with the AutoICS button does work fine.
