Help! Heater on and RPM goes up

*update my revs climb regardless of heater control. It happens randomly at a stop, when i'm decel, or even when I start the car. On the way to work today nothing happened though...strange
FYI my fuel trims are also +/- 0.5% , so i've got them dialed in pretty good. I'm on speed density and have never had this problem for almost a year now.

Any ideas what this could be?!?!

Thanks guys I appreciate any help.

-Jon

Is the right knob in the defrost position? If so then that means the AC gets switched on and would explain the odd behavior, as AC being on/off is referenced for idle speed while the temperature isn't.

Not to jack your thread but mine does the opposite.

My rpms drop in the defrost position and in some cases almost dies. Any way to adjust this?

*update this randomly happens heater on and off. I started the car after eating at some restaurant for about an hour and it jumped to 2300rpm and just stayed even when coolant temps were 85 deg C. Normally it goes up to 1500 and then settles. Got it to go back to normal idle after re-starting the car a few times.

Your ISC tables need to be adjusted. From the sounds of it, all of them need tweaking too.

What Jamie said! Depending on your setup it can be a tedious process. I took me quite some time to get mine dialed in to my setup. No more cold start rev up to 1500-2000.

^what i'm experiencing is not really cold start. Even when the engine is 95 deg C it will happen. It's very random. Today i'd say it was i'd say it was roughly 13 deg C = 55 deg F. My car started perfectly like it normally does. I have been on this tune almost a year now and this has only recently happened. No leaks or anything.

Your idle control valve may be on its way out.
