tephra launch maps

Just made the switch to tephra v7. just finished copying over all the maps from my original tune, and now im wanting to creat a launch map. where should i start? should copy in both of the main maps into the launch map ignition and fuel tables and go from there? seems to be the most logical decision i would think.

Start from your main maps. From there you pretty much want to pull timing and add fuel. I can share mine when I get home from work if you'd like.

sure. i know i cant use them but seeing your main maps as opposed to the launch maps might help me get an idea. im guessing copy in my main maps and add a little fuel pull a degree or two of timing and start logging? wont be able to drive the car till thursday due to a flat tire **** sucks.

When I say "pull timing" I mean more than a couple degrees I run -10° in the 2-step area.

I'd be interested to see some tuned launch maps as well. I haven't even started messing with those yet.

Make sure to smooth your launch maps into your regular fuel maps. If not you will create a "hole" that you can't get out of. Aka you will bog on the map switchover

not quite understanding what your saying boosted91t

would you mind posting an example?

i dont see how you could smooth it out in more than a few cells which is what im assuming is all you would be using. if i copied in my tuned timing and fuel maps to the launch maps, and didnt change anything just did a log during two step shouldnt i only mess with the 5500 row and around 120 or so load (whatever load the log says) and tune those cells? or should i be tuning the whole entire map and retarding timing out of the entire map up to the point of two step?

My 2-step is at 5000. Around 3500 or so I start retarding timing compared to my regular map in order to have a smooth-ish transition. Same for fuel.

Email me a log of your car on the 2-step rev limiter and a copy of your current map. I'll get you started

I'm probably going to play around with mine tonight and figure out what works well. It seems like we have a similar setup, I'll report back soon.

Raptor's maps look very similar to mine and I build 14lb of boost. Don't see the point of pulling timing and adding fuel all the way up to 350, since it would never hit those cells. Then again, I've never been able to eliminate all the ping no matter how much I 'try' to smoothen things out. I'd love to know what's going on with my EGT with -ve timing and pig rich. I'm pretty sure the turbo isn't liking that level of abuse. Even without launch control, most AWD bog down a little on launch.

just my 2¢
