kinda lost with whats going on with the car...

Long story short

Blew the motor last year...
did a stock rebuild...

mods
Evo 9 block with evo 8 cylinder head, stock valves (they told me mild port on the cylinder head.. but don't think they changed anything)
rev2 map intake manifold
borla exhaust manifold
evo 9 turbo /stock 10.5 hotside not ported or anything
omni 4 bar map sensor
revolver cams
valve springs gsc beehive
map head studs
aftermarket oil cooler
buschur baffled oilpan
buschur uicp with stock 9 bov
invidia o2 housing
1650cc fic injectors
egr del... everything (blocked cylinder head port, removed all the lines and everything from intake manifold, also cap'd the two lines on top of the TB)
TB seals
single pump walbro 255 as far as I know.. i'll open the tank and double check..
downpipe,exhaust test pipe
ams front mount


started it a few days ago.. idled fine... shut it off
had my tuner turn off all the egr codes
didn't have any check engine lights after

and was doing a log...
the car is currently up on jack stands.. so put the car in 1st... and was doing this log..
at 4k the car had 251 counts of knock.. which ranged from 109-251.. then a steady 33 counts I shut it off right away..
looked over everything.... and turned the car back on... did another log 0 counts of log..?
I don't hear anything (knock under the hood)...


where to go from here? compression test? leak down?
i've already pulled spark plugs... they are all black... bc its running rich.. other then that looks normal..

other then that haven't done anything else...

so you where loginging the car on the jack stands?

 

post up a copy of your map, no way you had 200 degrees of timing advance....

 

i wasn't doing full pulls... i was letting it idle.. so i could send a map back to my tuner... i was playing with the throttle to keep the car on... b\t 1-3k ... just happened to look at the laptop and it went to 4k.

i meant more along the lines of doing a screen shot of the fuel and timing parts.

 

because either your logging wrong or you have some mechanical problems unrelated to the tune.....

 

^ i could be logging wrong.. not once did the check engine light flash... my laptop just took a sh*t on me.. and it was running evoscan 2.7.. now its saying the installation files could not be found...downloading 2.9 off the website..

I would say then that your not logging correctly..... and what rom are you running ?

 

Incorrect logging.

The ecu does not report more than 36 knock counts. That is the ceiling.

 

The range is 0-36 counts. You're doing it wrong.

which per ecuflash is a 05 mr 6spd

my car is a 03 gsr 5spd..? not sure if it matters...

 

Well your notreally using the stock rom anymore. The second 7 in your 941740715 means its a tephra V7 rom. The stock rom on your car was most likely a 94170015. Which if i recall is listed as a 2004 gsr 5speed. Thats what mine was anyway and I have a 03 gsr 5spd.

 

okay thanks.^ assuming its the right rom then.... just wondering where i should go from here.. have a shop look over it to see if anything is wrong.. or turn on the car and see if i get any more knock?.. i've gone over timing... its dead on... spark plugs look fine just black... i can do a compression test?

What version of evoscan? If < then 2.9 you might want to update to the most recent to see if it still produces logging errors.

 

^ was using 2.7.. just updated to 2.9.. but haven't turned on the car since i got 2.9 to do a log
