Help Needed, PLEASE.. 03 Evo
I am having a hard time getting my peripheral tables?? to show up readable in Notepad++. I have tried everything and it still shows up all different letters and numbers. It will look like this- acjus782n-=/28sm9dmxo and different signs. I don't know much about tuning I am just wanting to do the egr delete and the mis fire fix. I am running 94170015 Rom and tonight it was misfiring about ever 3-5 miles on the highway coming home from work.
I tried the xml files from the wiki files and it is what shows up weird. I even tried the tephra roms and the tuning tables are completely different than mine. If someone could email me an xml file for that rom that they know is good and readable, possibly with all the SES light disable codes in it I would appreciate it, and with the periphial tables that open in ecuflash. Thanks

Yes I have the cables and have search a thousand times and can't find anything. I just searched after posting this again and came up with nothing. I did use the ecuflash files, I was once able to read them until I changed roms from 94170008 to 94170015. I just don't know what else to do and I am not buddy buddy with any of the guys around me so nobody will help me, I have asked many times. I don't really want to mod my tune just deactivate a few things. I did just find some that are actaully readable in notepad, but I am not able to view the tables in Ecuflash.

In EcuFlash, is your user level set to Developer? If it's not, you won't be able to view the table in EcuFlash. I also use the 94170015 rom and have no issues seeing the periphery tables for the rom.
I think I got it. I am stupid and was copying the periphial stuff to the wrong rom. Doh. Thanks guys for the help, I will let you know if it did or did not work..

You have to modify it through ecuflash, not sure why you are using Notepad++. You are not supposed to delete any files, I suggest reinstalling all XML's and disabling the correct periphery bit through ecuflash. You can PM me and I'll give you an email address to send me your tune file and I'll see if it shows up on my computer.

Re: ROM ID: 94170008
I have exactly the same problem 4G63BoostJunkie is/was having. Having a major b*tch of a time trying to add in patch data to my XML files through Notepad and Notepad++ .
I deleted and reinstalled Notepad and ++ and still had the same damned problems.
It is just a collection of symbols and null jibberish, not like the XML files I have downloaded and can use for testing and online resources. Don't want to jack my recent CBRD tune...
I still haven't figured it out and am trying to install a patch for the OBDII readiness as I am due for Emmissions testing with a HFC that is throwing a CEL.
I know the periphery bits can be reassigned via MUT tables through ECUFLASH, but I can't get my XML file updated to even open up the links in ECUFLASH as I can't edit the junk that opens in Notepad... Still working on it and am going to pull another ROM image from car and try again. Any ideas?
4G63Boost... Did you figure this out? I am still dealing with this.
