haha, I seem to be answering this question on every page of this thread. and the answer is... after all the EvoDroid7 pre-orders are fulfilled including after the 2nd batch which is end of August, then it will become available. The EvoDroid7 comes with a downloadable apk for their other android phones that only the EvoDroid7 owners can use.

If you have to press the side button to bring up the menu/home screen thats really going to suck ***** for anyone wanting to double din mount it meaning you wont have access to that button
Nor will the hold button 3 seconds to power down the device or power up each time be friendly... Can't it just rely on ignition on and off unless adjusted otherwise?

Got my EvoDroid today, thanks!! I like the gauge design but I need to tweak it a bit to fit my needs. Any idea on when the gauge design layout will be made available?

I believe it's already available. Read 2 pages back on this thread; another member has already designed a pretty neat one.

Here's a template that I put together. You can edit and change colours, etc. etc.

It will give a good starting point. It's the one I posted earlier (or very similar)

OK, I've watched both of your youtube Setup Guides; I'm still having an issue: when I hook the 1.3DA cable to my USDM Evo9 the ABS and 3 ACD lights start flashing. They continue to flash until I remove the cable from my OBDII port!

My car is '06 EVO9, so I selected ECU type of Mitsubishi EFI 1994-2006

What now??

John-

yes this is normal flashing for MUTII diagnostics, it does this with the Mitsubishi dealer tool. you can disconnect pin1 from the OBDII port if you want to disable flashing. it is primarily for evo5/6 support. without the flashing diagnostic mode does not work.

I will add a gauge button for the settings menu. but yes you may still need the power button for emergencies.

I designed the 1.3DA cable for ACC ignition key on/off, I will do a guide for that next.

Hi Hamish,

Thanks for the delivery. Just got mine but I think my package is missing the wifi USB. I found a small USB in a tiny zip lock bag but I'm assuming that's the Bluetooth.

Looking at the unboxing photos above mine doesn't have the wifi USB. Could you please look into it? My order was 8335.

Thanks!

correct, from order 8335 onwards we run out of stock on wifi usb dongles. the wifi part of the software is very complex to get working, so only the bluetooth and mini-usb portions are operational. I will be refunding wifi dongles $4 for orders 8335 orders onwards. sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the prompt response. Can we put that $4 credit towards our $10 usb cable? I noticed there is a net discharge with the current cable which I assume has been rectified with the new cable?

A few other questions:
- The more parameters you log, the slower the dials (or if you don't log to file at all)? I noticed my throttle position dial isn't as responsive as yours in the video.

- Are there going to be improvements to the software such as uploading our logs onto the evoscan site and more preset layouts? Also, are you open to suggestions? It would be great to record GPS coordinates in the log as well (if possible).

- Any easy way to clear/reset the maximum recordings?

- Any fix to the cable reconnect issue? If I change a setting in the evoscan app, it won't reconnect unless you physically reconnect the USB cable.

- Is the GPS software on the unit functional? If so, could you please provide us with instructions on how to use it?

Overall, great product! I'm not sure about the actual unit itself since I've got a sticky power button out of the box (it sometimes doesn't bounce back when you depress and the unit turns off when I don't want it to - anybody else have this issue?)

Simon

mine showed up today... thanks hamish!

works pretty damn good straight out of the box (tested on way home from work, literally straight out of the box and plugged it in to the EVO) - i recommend everyone watch Hamish's video tutorials.

only two minor 2 issues so far...

1. WiFi on the EvoDroid wont connect to PEAP/TLS Certificate based WiFi systems (i.e WPA2 Enterprise - which both my work and home WiFi use ) This might be the version of Android on it (4.0.4) might be the problem there - is there any updates for the Android OS for the EvoDroid?

2. Missing the SD card i ordered with it.

Other than that - excellent work mate stoked as.
