New EVODROID7 EvoScan Android GPS/Logger/Reflashing CarPC Touchscreen Review
How do you have evoscan auto start whenever the car turns on?
cause that' the important thing here. it needs to have gauges automatically on and monitors real time data when the evodroid boots up when the car turns on.
thanks hamish.

For now you'll have to use the power button on the unit
I am excited for the eventual release of the double dins, or the software.
If the double din will be available sometime shortly after the software I will wait for it, if not I will propably get the AR liberator for ap radio 2 and run the software from my phone

Just got back into the country and unpacked it and got it working.
The gauge design seems to be a txt file that is not consistent with the xml file used in the evoscan gauge designer. I am sure I could pull it apart and figure out how to create a new one but wasnt't there supposed to be an application to convert the evoscan gauge layouts to the android tablet?
I will see if I can build a new gauge layout when I get time.
Also, what are 7 buttons meant to do?
When I press them I get a runtime error...

That's not what I meant.
What I mean is, HOW do you have the evoscan APPLICATION start automatically and when you turn the car on it shows it automatically right away.
So you DO NOT need to manually find the app every time.
Having the TABLET auto start via iignition is not the same as having the evoscan APPLICATION autostart and show on start up screen.

I have my share of questions but I imagine if everyone put them up there it would be quite a mess of a post.
Think we should start a Q&A post about this product here or something on the Evoscan site? It would be great to see an organized list of questions/problems and their answers/fixes.

I have partially figures out the parameters in the CSV file (Hamish, some help here would be appreciated) and then I will post up detailed instructions (saving Hamish a job)
I reckon that I can get a pretty good set of gauge templates put together and a guide.
The 7 buttons are meant to switch between layouts but as there is only one layout...

I have also figured out the appropriate formulae to calculate the immediate and trip cumulative litres/100km (or mpg) using speed, injector pulse width and log entry time. Not sure how to implement them as additional metrics to log on the evodroid. This would come in handy for those with a model other than the EvoX (which already produces that metric).

Would very much appreciate that!

so evoscan automatically shows up on screen right? (after bootup)
i dont have to go button searching to open it right?
its like the first thing i want to see when i turn the car on. correct?
Yep it's the first thing. You'll see the android home screen for about 10s and then evoscan boots up
