How did you fry it? Wire it wrong? I have up to 11 satalites yet it still can't locate me on the map

Now porting all of the stuff to a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (converting to 1024x600) while my new 1.3DA cable gets shipped.

Hamish, I still need the Evoscan2.APK emailed to me please.

Have you tried navfree? Using this I can get turn by turn directions.

Well...

I was messing with the wiring in semi darkness and I accidentally yanked out the switched 12v (to power the 1.3DA cable) I think that this touched either the external sensor ground (pin 6) or the permanent 12v (pin 8) and it fried both the tablet and 1.3DA cable. Stupid mistake (I should know better)

I was messing around as the 0-5v Innovate LC-1 was reading very lean so I wanted to eliminate the possibility that this was not due to having the sensor heater ground and sensor ground grounded in different places. So I wanted to connect them both to the 1.3DA cable to eliminate this as a problem.

Maybe the issue with the WB02 sensor is due to calibration so when the new cable comes I will do a free air calibration or use the serial connection on the 1.3DA cable (pin 5)

Hamish - how do I do this?

I'm in the same boat as Grimgrak with the gps. Yes I have tried navfree, and every other free nav app I could find. Still nothing. Mine has seen up to 13 sats, yet uses none. Seriously, I've tried about every configuration I could find. Nada. Other than that this thing is stellar!

Well okay, the gauge designer is still winning.

Okay, to answer my own question regarding connecting up an Innovate LC-1

Make a DB9 (RS232) cable (male) to plug into the serial cable from the LC-1.

Solder two wires -

Pin 2 on the cable TX Data (connects to 1.3DA cable, pin 5)
Pin 5 on the cable Ground (connects to 1.3DA cable, pin 6)

1. In my documents create a directory structure:

MyDocuments\Evodroid\GaugeTemplates\GaugeParts

2. Copy PPCGaugeDesigner to MyDocuments\Evodroid
3. Copy the gauge definition files (*.txt) to the GaugeTemplates directory
4. Copy the gauge background files (*.png) to the GaugeTemplates directory
5. Copy all of the gauge parts to the GaugeParts directory

You are now ready to start modifying / creating gauges.

6. Run PPCGaugeDesigner and open one of the templates that appears in the left panel

7. When finished, copy the modifieid files to the corresponding directory on the Evodroid. At present, the only gauge that can be displayed is 'Carbon1' so if you want to use another gauge then rename it to 'Carbon1'

WORKS!. my mistake was that I never saved the .png file to the directory. I thought you posted it up just to have us "look at it" lolololol

Good to see that you're getting it all working.

To create a brand new set of gauges.

1. create your background image file *.png. This will need to match the resolution of your tablet / orientation and be called '800x480_XXX.png" or 480x800_XXX.png (or if you are using something like a Galaxy Tab, 1024x600_XXX.png) This image file shows gauges, scales, labels, ranges but no pointers or numeric indicators. Save this as per previous instructions

2.using notepad (or better still notepad++) create a new blank text file with the same name as your image file (but *.txt)

3. open it up in PPCGaugedesigner and select the corresponding image file (click change button at bottom)

4. right click on the image to add either a numeric gauge (pointer), circular gauge, action button, template button etc.

5. edit parameters on right side pane such as position on screen (in pixels), log reference, etc.

6. save it

7. rename it to XXXxXXX_Carbon1.txt (a workaround until we get multiple templates

8. run it.

Too easy

7. copy it to evodroid

I have created some *.png button image files and I am going to build some standard gauge images that can be pasted into a blank background file.

One I have done them I will upload.

Cant get Evodroid7 to work!

first off I've never been able to access the Evoscan.com/forums (keeps denying me over and over, so I obviously cant look there for help)

I have a 2005 Evo 8 RS (stock ECU) and i plugged in the 1.3DA cable to the OBDII port, plugged it into the tablet, waited for it to get a connection and it doesnt read anything!, ONE time I got it to read TPS but it wouldnt read anything else. Im using the gauge template that comes with the tablet. Since I cant access the website, and seems all the treads on other evo sites about the Evodroid7 are about them waiting for them, or asking about putting them in other cars, I have a few questions if you guys dont mind answering, or could point me in the right direction, thanks!

Question #1 : Do I need to connect any different wires to the 1.3DA cable for normal operations on the Evodroid7, like RPM/MPH/Knock?

#2 : I see it says that iGo navigation has the most updated ''worldwide maps'' but it doesnt allow me to choose USA or United States as a region/country.. when i type in U it just pops up with Ukraine or United Kingdom, the GPS does pick up my location but the map is just a green screen looking thing, i checked for updates, no updates available, any help?

#3 I've noticed on this thread people are waiting (for months it seems like) for the pinout diagram, any luck yet?

My main concern is getting evoscan to work properly, I've tried to email Hamish (took 6 emails over the span of 3 weeks to get a response on my order) Seems he has his hands full at the moment, which is why I'm turning to Evom for help. Thanks so much in advance!!!!

p.s. It is responding and showing green for the connection to the ECU, just not giving me any information about what its receiving

Hi, let me see if I can answer.

1. no wires need to be connected for normal items that are controlled / logged by ECU. You need to select them for logging in the settings menu otherwise they won't display.

2. Sorry, don't use that and not in the US.

3. Pinout is on www.evoscan.com/evodroid/start

I hope this helps...

Maybe we could start a Sticky or two for this thread. Well you if you have time

A lot of these questions have been answered again and again over the last few months and people are have problems even finding the settings menu.

A sticky for basic Evodroid operations and another for all your gauge creations and others can add to them.

What do you reckon?
