all devices contain this feature.. it is just a software update.. as an APK installer file. I will post it up after a few more testing sessions.

So the small white plug, with the single wire, on my tacktrix cable is only for power?

You're talking about the 1.3U?

That's for reflashing, laptop based only.

Any word on getting the cable to work with other phones/tablets? I already have a Nexus 7 installed inside my dash and would love to get it working with Evoscan so I can get rid of my gauges.

yes, just finished releasing EvoScan v2.9.0092. I am now enhancing the features on EvoDroid7 for some new updates coming. I also found a way to shut off the power when you turn the key off.. it works because the EvoDroid7 runs under root access, and EvoScan can control any power button in the whole system.

Cheers,
Hamish.

Anxiously waiting for the Evodroid update!

For the Evoscan update, I noticed it says "Send this list to my Evodroid7". What is this, and was this part of the update or did I just not notice it before?

Sweet. My Nexus 7 has an app that detects the power state (disconnected or connected) and will automatically put the tablet into deep sleep (1-2% battery drop per day with the car off). When power is restored, it automatically wakes up. Maybe this is something you could look into in the future. Basically, shut off all wireless connections, disable most wakelocks and power down any unessential components.

Does anyone managed to make wideband serial logging work? When I connect my AEM wideband to Openport 3.0DA cable, I get the following message: "Error: Innovate Wideband Error: ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: length=4096; index=-1", even after selecting AEM wideband in options menu.

What pin did you use to connect the wideband?

Pin 5 for AEM serial wire and Pin 6 for ground wire.

I've tested the wires, connecting them to a serial to usb converter and successfully logging the signal in Evoscan for PC.

AEM wideband hasn't been programmed into evoDroid7 yet. I am working on it at the moment.

The problem with mounting it in the double din display is that it makes the power/menu button inaccesable. I had to hire someguy to solder wires to extend the switch to a remote location. Would be great if you just sold it with wires coming out of it for extension. Perhaps if this could be done via one of the ports in the 0-5v plug... then no need to take the tablet apart?

I'm thinking of doing a custom "sliding dock" for the evodroid for easy access, I haven't found a single fault with a sliding dock atm, so it's what I'm thinking of doing.

The only issue is that it needs some fabrication to be done and I'm not much of a fab person... I can't find anyone that will do it either... But it's still something I'm considering lol...

There's another guy who did it using a hacked up CD-rom:

Obviously it doesn't look neat or nice in anyway, but it does the job, but I want it to look more appealing.
