So I have tested quite a few Evo 8 Stock MAP sensors now (part#MD305600) and have come to a conclusion. They are either of very poor tolerance from the factory or they tend to drift over the years. Some I have tested read perfect atmospheric pressure and some read MUCH higher (122kpa vs the actual 99kpa). I confirm them with a brand new OMNI 4bar sensor I keep around just for testing. I also checked voltage at the sensor and it is a solid 5.00 volts and the output voltage corresponds with the ADC input I read in Evoscan.

With that said, I don't recommend using a stock MDP sensor for any true logging unless you confirm that it reads your correct atmospheric pressure with the key on/engine off.

This might explain why the evo9 has a different part#.

So the '03-'04 evos appear to use Delphi PS10078 MAP sensors and the '05-'06 evos use totally different MAP sensors and seem to log differently as well. I'm trying to find data sheets on these sensors to no avail.

Sensor part #'s:

'03-'04: MD305600 (also E1T19172)
'05-'06: MN153281 (also E1T16871)

Thanks. I found that its actually used in a TON of Mitsubishi's... a ton, lol.

Had about 5 minutes to do a quick comparison between the '03-'04, '05-'-6, and OMNI 4 bar map sensors today just to see how much the two sensors are different at atmospheric pressure.

OMNI 4 bar: 1.19 volts = 101.784 kPa

'03-'04: 4.69 volts

'05-'06: 4.01 volts

Note: OMNI 4 Bar scaling is

5 X (.002421 X [kPa] - .00842)= Output Voltage

((Voltage / 5) + .00842) / .002421 = kPa

So delphi replied to my email regarding the specs for their PS10078 map sensor that is a direct replacement for the MD305600 sensor found in the '03-'04 evo 8's.

Voltage= .0452 x (Pressure in kPa)+ .330

kPa= (Voltage - .330) / .0452

They haven't given me the usable voltage range of the sensor yet though. So far it doesn't seem to be a good match for the OEM part at all.

Delphi got back to me today and the range of their '03-'04 evo 8 replacement sensor is 15kpa-95kpa (1.000 - 4.625 volts). Clearly not a perfect match for the Mitsubishi MD305600 sensor like they claim.
