Do you know if the car has ever been tuned before? I've read that changing the Rom ID is a common way for tuners to try and "lock" their tune so no one can try and copy it. If you go to Golden's website and get one of the USDM Evo X sst xml's and change the "InternalidHex" from 5269XXXX to 52695269 is should be able to open it

Yes the car has been tuned before BUT when i went to the dealership to check for recalls they did what they called a torque recall and when i got the car back it had a check engine light on for the rear 02 sensor which was not there since i bought the car instead i have a wideband sensor.

I'll give this a try thanks so much i looked at the website at work to day but now i have time to check it out at home.....

You lost your tune. The dealer flashed their bull**** torque limiting map onto the car and most likely lost your tune on the car.

I agree 100% I was so mad i wish i never went in cause its cost me a few hundred dollars since 1st for them to tell me i have no rear 02 sensor and they couldn't do anything with it and second for me to purchase all the tuning software and tatrix cable etc.....no that its really a loss just a unexpected learning curve. The reason i bought this car was so i could work on it all myself and except at the beginning when it was winter and I had no time to look at it i took it to the dealer no more

heck i don't even have warranty.....which i'm glad i dont

anyways continuing on

I have now with golden's website access to the maps..thank you very much franzcars!!!

Next question doing mode 23 and the first mode is 02 and both golden and another source say it should be 05 where did i go wrong here?

1st mode is 03
2nd mode is 03B5
3rd mode is 48

I'll be looking around the site for answers while i wait

thanks in advance

Getting closer

I would email Golden with a copy of your rom since it seems that it is a new ID and not just an attempt at a lock so he can add it to his definitions.. Also if you know who tuned the car previously you might be able to email them for a copy of your old tune.

Looking at the roms, assuming that your car falls under USDM, the Mode23 location should not have changed with the new flash, so it might be worth him looking into it

Try defining it yourself using another xml as a base. The code is generally the same from rom to rom, just the locations are different.

First take the base xml you are going to use and change the rom id to your rom id. Then open the base rom in ECUFlash, open a map and go to edit, edit map definition and it will show you the hex address locations of the maps and the x and y axis. Open the base rom in a hex editor and look at the code in that location. Then open your rom in the hex editor and search for the same code. Wherever that code is, you modify the xml you are building to that hex address (easiest to do the address modification in ECUFlash under the same edit map definition tab).

Here's a XML that i've defined alot of important maps, IE mode 23, some of the boost and fixed the timing tables. If there's anything else that ou'd like defined just let me know. Also this is my first time defining a map so I might have made a mistake or two, but it should good for most of it

I'm 99% sure about everything, just wasnt 100% about the mode 23, I checked with old one of the older roms and the data lined up in a different spot, but couldn't test. Let me know how it goes

I like that...honest with me....

I be honest I just finished mode 23 inecuflash and evoscan and both r working great as far as i see.....now i get to log with all these options its glorious.

I changed the figure that were 05 and 05 and 42 now they read 23 23 52

and i added goldens EVOSCANxml into datasettings of evocan folder and the drop down menu now displays "Golden 2008 USDM v1 EVOX"

I've selected this

I should be set to log should i not??

then tweek

then log and tweek

It looks like i'm ready to go.

I'm currently finishng it right now and looking over all avenues before i start

let me know what you thing man
