After changing immobilizer code and saving, ROM is not recognized
Hey guys, I have been experiencing an odd issue when trying to switch to a different ROM on my 2005 EVO 8 MR. My original rom ID is the weird 96940013 (see https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...6940013-a.html) and due to lack of support for this ROM I am trying to switch to the original 96940011 ROM. I downloaded that rom file and opened it in ECU flash, changed my immobilizer code to the one on my original ROM, and re-flashed it to my evo. Everything works fine with the car, but after saving the ROM with the changed immobilizer code it seems to have messed up the ROM and it is no longer recognized. When opening the ROM in a hex editor and going to f52 the rom ID is not there. Has anyone ever experienced an issue like this before? I will attach the ROM that I have been having issues with. Thanks.
Since I didn't get a reply I spent lots of time today trying to figure out what was going on. I found out it was actually something as simple as NOT selecting the option to replace the file when clicking "save as". When I clicked "save as" it told me that file already exists and asked if I want to replace it. In saying yes, somehow it would corrupt the file and make it unrecognizable. To save the ROM I had to go to "file" and click the simple "Save ROM" option, and it would not prompt me to replace the file, and the changes were saved and the file wasn't corrupted. Hopefully my stupid headache today helps save someone time in the future!
