Evo 8/9 ECU pins, pin removal & installation, and map switching harness how-to's

I've been looking for the last 1.5 hrs. I can't find it in the ECUFlash forum, and I don't see it on the Evo ECU Wiki page. Can someone post the link?

Also, it was a bit of a challenge finding info on the map switching harness. Are they now only available through GST and Buschur? Is there a DIY how-to somewhere?

EDIT: Here is a summary of everyone's contributions:

Just as any FYI, when I was using a switch to switch maps (now using TPS), I just wired a 5V source to the pin using a simple SPST switch. Worked fine.

Also, since you own a evo IX this tool really does a nice job of removing the pins without damaging the plug:

Does anyone know which Crimpers Dies work with the ecu pins?

Is it a universal size? Or do you need the $140 Tyco crimper?

I have a bunch of ratcheting and hydraulic crimpers, but never worked on any small stuff, so don't know how universal those dies are.

I usually solder and then roll it with a pair of pliers.

I *think* I have used my W crimper on the evo 8 pins. The evo 9 should crimp the same, it is just that the retaining mechanism is slightly different but that doesen't affect crimping. I'll try to remember to search for where to buy all the evo 8/9 pins and the tools that you should use when making them. Also you can order replacement evo 9 plugs if you happen to booger the retaining mechanism up not using the proper tool and your **** and need to repair it, like me.

This is all the hardware for the evo 9 ecu plugs. The evo 9 uses 3 plugs made by JAE (Japan Aviation Electronics). These are not the AMP/Tyco style connector and pins that we are most familiar with in the 2g DSM and Evo 8 ecu's.
