Contrary to popular belief you actually have less of a chance of breaking drivetrain parts with slicks as apposed to street tires/drag radials. Late last year I snapped my rear driver side axle clean in half on drag radials with a best 60ft of 1.60. My best 60ft now with slicks is a 1.52 and it felt so much smoother on the drivetrain.
I guess because when you run slick you have slip factor. But then again I have no idea what I'm talking about. Well this year I'm only going to make the big HP and just going to rocking Dunlop Z1 tires this year. Can't afford rims and slick this year. Maybe next year if my wife doesn't get pregnant.
