Even if the octane was sufficient, it would run 100% IDC without HFS-1

Slicks are made of a much softer compound then drag radials/street tires, providing a cushion that helps absorb the shock the drivetrain is under during a launch. I'm with you, I couldn't afford a rim/slick combo either right now but thanks to Scott@TTP with his sponsorship I have a set to use at the track.
