Comparable to the BR Race Core or any other Garett 4" core. I have no prob telling you what I spent, however, since the price isn't on CBRD website I'll refrain from posting it. If you're really interested in it, your best bet is to call CBRD, leave a message for Chad letting him know that you're interested. He ma not call you back in the next two minutes, but he will call you back prior to him leaving, at least that was my experience along with many others.

Does a BOV really make that much of a difference? I know it's a newbie question but I was under the impression that an upgraded BOV is an upgraded BOV. If that is not the case and I currently run the Forge RS BOV, what would you fellahs recommend me upgrading to and why?

Scheides, you and I have exchanged emails over the past week. Remember Levar the guy in Iraq? Well, I've never heard of this type of tuning as I'm currently ECU-tuned by KevinD. For the map sensor, I've strongly considered the GM MAF/translator set up. Can you shed more light on what you are talking about above and does my GM MAF plans suffice?

Run a stock IX bov and crush it ever so slightly, it is the best one on the market and it holds boost just fine. Driveability with the forge sucks imho.

Skip the GM MAF-T, 100% useless on an evo. Keep the factory MAS/MAF in place. What I am referring to here is two hacks by mrfred. The first one uses a an evo X map sensor (3.3 bar) to log boost via the stock ecu, then, the second one uses that boost measurement as a target for your boost control tables. The stock setup refers to a target engine load, which is less ideal.

when we retuned we uped the bost to 27.5 psi and the evo 9 blow off valve has been said to leak over 25psi. if your blow off valve is leaking boost that means your turbo has to work harder to produce target boost. if the turbo is working harder to create less boost, thus not working as effeciant as possible. turbos that work harder then the have to means they are blowing hotter air which leads to knock, not allowing you to run as much timing or fuel = less power.

crushing a 9 is known to work, but i decided to go with the aps twin vent. i literaly have no drivability issues at all, it work just as good or better then the 9 bov without leaking.

Scheides, I'm in no way questioning your response whatsoever. Back in the day, I spoke to the English Racing crew when I was entertaining building around the stock IX turbo and they swore by the GM MAF-T set up adding (what I believe) roughly 15whp. I'm not too fond as the MAP crew has also recommended me getting the same set up for roughly $330 total. What are your thoughts on this? Also, could you send me a link to this Mr. Fred upgrade as I've never heard of it? Thanks.

"Has been said to leak" but has that been confirmed by anyone you know of? I'll look into both the stock IX and APS twin-vent BOVs. I'm glad that you fellahs taught me a thing or two as no detail should be overlooked.

The CBRD fmic - is the largest fmic you can install with zero cutting right?

I have yet to install my BR race - I am assuming it is just a hair bigger - and it says it does require some trimming.

The BR Race and our intercooler use the same exact core... the tanks, inlets/outlets, and brackets are the difference. Ours requires no crash beam trimming, and both the inlet and outlet are in the stock location, so any IC piping that fits in the stock location will work. Both are fantastic pieces.

It's the "4 inch" core... which really measures like 3 7/8 inches (or something close). Again, it's the same core used on the Buschur Race IC.
