Maybe the difference with the ET's 4g63 engine is it runs less boost, has a little better VE and runs higher rpm, which alltogether yields less stress on crank bearings/block, so the block holds without using concrete fillings?

+ how good is your knock sensing/control?

We have seen the blocks split with as little as 600whp if it hydraulics or gets any preignition. Anything above 900whp seems to split regularly enough a solid motor is needed with the 4G6x motors.

I'm wondering if he isn't playing a shorter duration exhaust cam (playing with L/D). I'm also keeping in mind that they are using methanol as well, which changes some aspects of engine breathing and exhaust density. I'm really curious what they are seeing for manifold pressure ratios with their 50psi+ meth setups.

Seeing that F1 video and watching them make the mold from wood was really cool. Just thinking of how things use to have to be done...blue-prints by the bajillion.

How do you have less stress on the bearings if you rev higher? Am I missing something?

Higher RPM usually nets lower torque. You can almost think of torque as a bearing load and duration formula.
Less duration (higher rpm) of high bearing load provides better being wear.
Less Overall bearing load due to less power per RPM (torque), thus providing better bearing wear.
these things coupled with a near perfectly balanced rotating assembly allows for exceptional bearing life at these power levels.

I have to ask David about that.
The Volvo runs on methanol.

That's not true though. Torque reading off a dyno is moment of torque, it is not a work rate figure. 1hp = 550ft/sec, so you have more torque work being done at peak power rpm than you do at peak torque rpm.

Haha i can't wait to hear back.

Your max power rpm is around 8000. Spyros is around 12000 i'm guessing. So he will be making a lot less torque. But still i would be surprised if he has the stock block stay in one piece anywhere near that power without a much stronger cradle or some kind of extra block support.

How's my sister?

Happy new year

Sorry that i haven’t see and response to any pm or email yet.
Please send me again email to spyros@extreme-tuners.com its more easy to see them.

Back in action.

Here is the evo ix that we will try to brake the 60-130 (100-200kmh).
We did a quick test last week just to setup the traction control and boost was at 27-30psi.
We did the test for a Greek tuning magazine with vbox 3 100hz speed and video also that we will publish. As the magazine is not yet published and its not fair for them to tell the times sooner I just inform u that we had between 3sec - 3.5sec. But I can after 5days with more details and the vbox file.
Its full street car as u might know with full stock interior with driver and co driver and slight uphill road. The total weight on the test was 3580lbs.
We did the test close to 1400hp. We have extra one bar for the next tests and close to 350hp more, we tried to boost more than 30psi but the road but we had not traction. At the next test we will use dragtires to rise the boost.

But I am sure we can break the record with not more than 1550hp.

We will upload also pics this week of the Joes setup as we are about to finish it.
Our new billet intake manifold and some new T4 and T3 turbos. The 3000hp fuel kit and our new cast cylinder head that are about to publish soon.

Why not also test it from 30-130mph? That is a big competition over here in England. Then you can compare to the fast cars here. If you are testing 60-130 you might as well do 30-130.

They inform me from the magazine that we didnt start from 1rst gear to measure it correct. They found a measurement with 2nd gear full throttle that was too slowresponse as the lag was big and had 30-130mph +~5sec.

From standing pass and with dragtires in the dragstrip the time is always lower as the car coming to 60mph faster.
We realy want to see something from 30-40-50 full throtle pass, from the cars on the list. And ofcourse on a regular road. From the list above i see that some starting from standing.

Spyros, how can you have grip on a ordinary road with 1400 hp even if you have 4 wheel drive? What kind of tires are you using?
