FP Red, S1s, SD, Road Race
I used to feel the same way. Most of the Elises and Exiges at track days run corners well but don't have enough power down the straights. Last track day there were only 5 cars and one was a Lotus Elise that belched fire between shifts and did 145+ down the straight.
Though I had 1st position for the 1st session, I let him pass, then chased him for 25 laps. Together we ran over a dozen laps at 1:25 or better. Afterwards he came over and wanted me to know that he couldn't lose me and his assistant said he ran his fastest lap ever. So if you want to drive faster have your rearview mirror filled with Red EVO!!
He was the better driver with more experience. I was fortunate to have been able to share the track with him. I'm still learning and fortunately the remedy is practice practice practice

For tuning, I would put in a quart to 10 gallons of 92. Then I would track that same setup. On the stock turbo, it enabled Aaron to get a little more power.
Now with the injectors and FP-red, It looks like I can run straight 92 and have more power than before.
Sure we can get more with timing, tuning, and bumping octane, though I need to see how this current setup works after 75 laps.

Track Day Fun
With cascade car club I started out beginner, then intermediate. Last two times I have been runing in the solo group, typically group 4. Group 3 allows the weekend racers to join and test their setup before qualifying day. That group gets a wild mix of cars. I'm looking forward to trying it this year.
I'm also trying to get into some of the other car clubs and experience some different groups. The best experiences come where there aren't that many cars. Adrenaline racing runs sessions and has smaller groups. You can see all the events at motorsportreg.com
OT: Very interesting observation about the Gruppe S ACD flash...been thinking of the TRE rear diff service myself.
Curious on this build how much extra do you think the S2's would be worth over the S1's?

I've never done better than a 1:26 at 399 whp at PIR with a NEON! But I was always timed with traffic. Can't wait to see this baby in action! I think it's awesome you are able to make comparisons by modifying in stages so you can see the different outcomes.

We have another 05 RS that is running mid to low 11s at roughly the same power level. I think at 390-410, Billy has managed some 11.50s at 120+ I know at 433 he ran a 11.2 at 126 so kind of gives you an idea. Then again that was with a stock turbo running out of power on the top end. With power all the way out to the top in 4th I would suspect this should be able to move a little better.
Hard to say without trying it out though.
