That is not correct, the peak will change and mean will remain the same... The post above I actually I have it *** backward. The mean piston speed will remain the same regardless of rod length as long as you keep the same stroke... However, the peak piston speed does decrease with a longer rod.

I'll edit my first post. Thanks for catching that.

Ya I feel you, I worked 24 hours straight yesterday and only got 4 hours of sleep this morning when I got home because I couldn't sleep due to me thinking about Aaron going corn fed today

Ya the stroke is the distance the piston travels which has direct effect on the mean piston speed, and that doesn't change unless stroke changes. I think we are on the same page now.

Pumpgas timing, 30psi falling to 27psi, E85. There will be no logs posted past this point. For reference the timing is the same as what I have already posted all I did was add boost and switch fuel.

Thanks for all the great documention of this build. I am going in the same direction, but will probably go the with the HTA 3586 on my 2.4 in an effort to reduce spool time. Should have my results in 3-4 weeks.

Aaron is running the HTA3586 as well, unless you ment the 3582...

I think the HTA3582 and HTA3586 are both great turbo choices. It is really what you want HP wise out of your car. Honestly, the reason I went Black, was because I have a "street" car and didn't need 800hp. If you are planning to do more of a "race" can then the HTA3586 will be your boy

So far I'm exstremely happy with Aaron's 3586 spool. 300rpms slower than a Black... All I can say is, amazing!

np, ya Aaron is HTA3586. Aaron doesn't run anything "standard" if you didn't know him already...

standard never gets you first place...thinking outside the box, halfway down the street and on the left is the only way to go.

Still no goal actually. I made more power with a better powerband than the 2.2 and am doing it with the same boost and lower timing. It actually is making peak power higher than the 2.2 did to be honest. There are 2 people that are currently betting on how much it will make all tolled. I am not taking sides but I dont know who is gonna win quite yet.

Aaron that is awesome news!!! Do you think the custom cams moved the powerband? Is so, how much do you think?

btw I have faith in my number, but don't hurt her getting there

I think the cams are working with the head better than the off the shelf solution. Off the shelf is great for an off the shelf head but since mine is worked it needs something to help it. I think it has moved the power back to the right about 300 rpm.
