Thank you again. What i am looking to know is how do I chose between those cams and the s3's. I mean what are the criteria's or applications that would favor one over the other?

yah, fpred +stock block ej257 = death..usually, but i've seen some 35r cars live longer as the ramp up with torque isn't as harsh as stock frame fpred/green/etc.

These cams for bigger motors for sure, S3s are typically 2.0L high rev cams. It would be interesting to see how they do in my car.

So for a 2.2L engine revving to 8000-84000 rpm (turbo hta3586) you would recommend these cams over the s3's?

Thats what they were originally designed for actually. I ended up doing the 2.4 shortly after the 2.2 didnt seem to work out and put them in with the bigger motor rather than test them straight away in the 2.2L. Seems they'll work in either though.

Well I finally made it to the track!

Attachment 339284

Car was spinning pretty bad 1st-3rd. My 18x8 wheel with 225/45 tires were killing me. I should be getting new wheel and tires soon and be back to the track. I'm happy with what it did considering it was spinning a great deal.

Car was around 650hp/565tq on this run.

Yes that is pretty good man for those ****ty tires and stock suspension. The 60ft alone would put you under 10.5 with traction issues still. im curious what it can do with traction.. 136mph is haulin ***.. traction or not.

car sounds good.. why the hell did the video get cut off? need a better cam or something?

also at what RPM did you pass in 4th with?

Ya I'll be going back in a few weeks with 18x9.5s and better tires to shoot for 9s. Ya rolling through at 136 did feel.

The vid got cut off because the fiance didn't think it was important to continue once I beat the guy I was racing... Girls...

Going through the traps between 8400-8600 depending on trap but 136 I believe was 8600.

...or all the Horsepower...one of the two. lol.

yeah mike...even if you get 18x9.5's they aren't going to make an appreciable difference at the strip. You just need... Hoosiers. lol. 245/45/17's

the 265/35/18 tires to fit on the 9.5's is a smaller OD...which means your gear ratio goes the WRONG direction! The 245's are taller and therefore will make you go through the traps at a lower engine speed given the vehicle speed.

I'd recommend getting a set of the 245 Hoosiers...The tires will help relieve some of the dynamic shock (jerk) on your drivetrain parts that wheel hopping street tires generates.

Evo 8 3/4 or do you have the Evo 9 3/4?
