CBRD new BBKB results
FP stated that the Red is 60lb/min.
HTA Green - 54lb/min
Red - 60lb/min
Black - 68lb/min
So, if the BBKB is 60lb/min also, it should be comparable to a Red, but only testing will tell. I would love to see a back to back comparison of both turbos at different boost levels as well as being maxed out.

Thanks guys! If I am reading the info correctly, then both the FP Red and BBK-B compressors flow substantially the same amount of air. Allow me to state that I am not into arguing about which turbo might be better. For all I know, the BBK-B may well flow more air than the HTA Green and spool faster than the FP Red. In which case it will prove to be a landmark turbo. So, to each his own. Still the BBK-B is an impressive turbo in its own right.

Any of these turbo's available for Beta testing? I'd sure like to try one out. I've had the 64mm red, the 80mm red, the stock 9, and soon a std FP Green.... I'd like to give one the CBRD turbo's a try.
Fp FTW!!! Fp is ahead of the game by far IMO. Using this BBK or any stock frame turbo, red , green, black. I would reccommend fp's oil line kit that comes directly from the oil filter housing. Don't know if CBRD is going to offer this type of upgrade for theirs. If not, purchase 1 from FP. My 2 cents.
Ive driven Green, Red, Black.....RED is the winner!!(overall)

i hope chad doesnt mind me comenting on the bbk b, but when they were testing the the original bbk full they actually made at least two different size compressor wheels and chose to use the smaller one, the one currently in the full. better response and spool is what they were after with the full, being they have a lot of road race and track going clients that run on pump gas 93. when caleb worked there he actually had the larger prototype bbk full on his car for testing and daily driving. thats where the bbk b came from, the original bbk full testing. they are not using the same exact compressor but the size is similar and they are using a different design from testing with their time attack car.

This means that you are gonna do a straight up, objective comparison of the BBK-B and the 80MM Red, right, R/T? Cool! This should be totally interesting and enlightening.
To the best of my knowledge, the only real comparative data is that set forth by a single source: Bryan at GST, who just happens to be a CBRD Beta tester. There are few if any other independent comparative tests done on the same car given identical variables where just the Old Green is swapped out for the BBK.
Mellon for one has gotten a lot of power and torque out of the old Green recently on pumpgas. There is definitely a lack of independent comparative data. If R/T Ernie is willing to do comparative testing between the Red and the BBK-B then this is a good thing. It will go a long way toward clearing up the assumptions, and generalizations, as well as some of the smoke and the mumbo jumbo.

it will be what it will be....no sense in speculating. Either you're going to buy it to find out or not. I've got an anti-surge cover FP Red I'd like to compare it to. Power on pump vs. power on c16... and then compare transient response. Take some T90 data and evaluate the overall performance of the turbo's versus each other. After all...that's what I do for work.
i figure no matter what the outcome will be there will always be speculations
Once again that is not how it was conceived or designed. They decided to make their own from scratch to fill a need many of their customers had that there were no products on the market that would satisfy. They spent over a year in developement on both the B and the orig BBK with many different turbine and comp wheel designs that they tested before arriving at the final product.
So I am sure that the BBK full was not designed off of the FP Red, and I'm not sure why you are sure that they did....
I am not trying to be a nutswinger, I think FP makes good products and I am very happy that we have so many options and good companies that make product for our cars. I just want to try put the correct information out there.

i tried to do that but apparently no one wants to listen.

we never copied the FP design on anything,
nor does the FP information have any place in our thread
this is about our turbos, if you want to discuss FP's by all means start an FP thread
THE BBK-B is drastically different than the BBK when it comes to compressor technology, it's just a completely different bag of chips
regardless, im going to have the mods clean up this thread, because of the BS being thrown around, sorry guys!
anyway, we are closed this week, im here before I leave for vacation!
cheers
