what size precision turbo in the first graph? what size turbine housing? did you have the same mods when you put the garret gt35r turbo on your car and retuned it?

it was a 6152s, pretty much the same size as the 35r. the precision was with a .82 and then a .63 to try and spool it. the 35r was a .82. nothing was changed except the turbo, except maybe the oil and at most the plugs. the precision blew up 3 times too!

just did a quick search the 6152s you had is journal bearing. That affects spool compared to the garrett gt35r which is double ball bearing turbo.

its rated at 630hp and shares its compressor wheel specs with a 35r so i would venture a guess of 62lb/min.

The precision 6152s you had is journal bearing. The garrett gt35r you got is double ball bearing. I think spool up would be 200-300 rpms better over the 6152s you had, Just because the garret double ball bearing center. And is also more reliable over the precision 6152s because of it.

do you have a dump tube or does the wastegate recirculate into the downpipe?

I'm running a 6262 and My car doesn't lag like that much. This is on a 3rd gear pull on a 6spd 4th gear would yield faster spool.

Garrett
It matters in the tune and mods...That graph is all over the place lots of dips.

same tuner and mods both times. he didnt bother tuning a junk turbo to perfection. btw, the 35r was in 3rd gear and the precision in 6th to try and get it to spool.

junk??You have no idea on what your talking about precision is one of the best turbo's out there..If your tuner had to tune your car to spool good in 6th gear then I/m sorry to tell you this he's clueless.JUnk turbo right that's why it makes over 700 whp and people run 8's with it..By looking at your afr's he could have leaned them up more to help the turbo spool faster there at 12 even and dip to 10's right away that's a poor afr curve. The reason why the 35 r spooled faster is cause he figured put to lean it up on spool untill boost starts to hit hard.Just look at both graphs.

The 6235 is not that laggy normally.. Buschur was running it for a little while and had great spool.. We also have it on a car but its a 2.4L Long rod so thats not fair.. LOL

tell me how awesome they are when they start puking oil out of the tailpipe. then when you send it in and get it rebuilt it does it again 1,000 miles later.
