im surprised you're not seeing it if you have e85. this car had another 10whp in it with timing, i just didnt wanna push it out anymore since 93octane varies from pump to pump.

im continuing to fall in love with this turbo.

my question is, is there any risk of quick spool leading to a torque spike that can lead to issues down the road, or is the torque easily controlled to keep a stock motor very safe?

this is a fear i have acquired from the past 8 years of tuning smaller turbo fwd cars that will just torque spike the transmissions to death, so it may not even apply to my evo...

I can control torque pretty easily, but yes you can stress the motor & drivetrain with a big early torque spike for sure. that goes for any car though. You dont have to worry about the evo to much drivetrain wise, but stock rods arent gonna withstand to many 460wtq+ spikes at 4500 rpm.

this is a good turbo for a stock block. pretty much full boost by 3800rpm and over 400whp on pump gas.. Im interested to see what it does with more octane and boost though. it should crack 500 fairly easy with more boost.

yes actually weather lowered his boost alittle. i have a log at 23-24psi.

Only difference is the afr was 11.8 in the green line, and the other lines you can see its lowered also, due to weather. no knock anywhere.. not even 1 count.

Substantially more power in this turbo available i would say. an HKS on e85 and 34psi yielded 468/467 with a rather brutal mod list.

See the two dyno sheets here of an fp green 73hta being pushed on e85:

http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...e=Lancer-Turbo

500whp before 6k = nice turbo.

LOL you're making me sound like im pushing fp products now. Well...... the fp black and red use steel on steel thrust bearings, which makes them more prone to failure.. the fp green uses steel on copper? so its not sensitive like the red or black.

Id say the reliability is pretty good. if you properly lubricate it and change oil and use proper filters it should last over 50k+ miles like any other journal bearing turbo.

thanks. so basically this is showing that it can make 400whp or thereabouts on only 23psi and its netting a little less than 10whp per pound of boost...damn im continuing to be impressed.
