Gt40/67 vs. Greddy t67 test

We just finished doing a back to back test on a GT40/67 single scroll Vs. a Greddy T67 twin scroll. To start off this turbo combination was designed to run on our 2.4l motor but is not finished so we tested it on our stock 2l with just a Skunk Intake. This test proves to show that 1-don't run such a big turbo on a stock 2l and 2-If you do, run a twin scroll so it will at least spool and build boost faster with no boost control!

t hsg size

Sames journal GT40 non bb - GReddy was a 10cm twin inlet Vs. PTE .68 single inlet - -this difference made 5psi quicker at 4k-5300

Interesting comparison, but the Greddy T67 is the Mitsubishi 25G compressor wheel. It's like 60mm inducer and 78mm exducer. It uses a TD06H turbine wheel which is smaller then a GT35R turbine.

A better comparison would be to a GT3582R.

Those sound like some garbage turbos , and well out of date. No need to try to re-invent the wheel . There a handful of solid PROVEN turbos out there already that 95% of peopl use already.

These turbos are not junk. I think it is hilarious when people talk trash but fail to realize that the Greddy 25G uses the same technology as our beloved 16G. It is a great turbo that will make over 600whp. It is reliable and is proven to perform. The T67 garret is also a badass turbo that has gone in the nines on 4G63 and is also a proven performer. Sure there may be some other turbos that do it better is most ways but I still wouldnt spend the money to change a turbo from either of these unless I was maxxing them out. The improvement isnt going to be that big. Would I buy one new today, prob not but they arent junk like you guys are implying.

The Garrett T67 isn't the greatest for a small displacement engines for it's airflow rating. It doesn't do that well at high boost pressures and there are definitely better choices. I had one on my old car though and with the "GT350" (or T3 stage 5 if you prefer) turbine wheel, I really liked it. It did really well at lower boost levels, made ~450 WHP on 91 octane at like 20 psi. Had 20 psi by ~4500 RPM in 3rd gear, just as responsive as a GT35R at a fraction of the price. Basically a good alternative to the "SC61" but it didn't surge like that turbo did. Yeah, the SC61 is out of date just like the T67, but that doesn't change the fact that it works well and is cheap.

The Greddy T67 is right up there on performance with a GT35R as well. The TD06H turbine is like 25 years old, yet it is still almost as efficient and flows almost as well as a GT35 turbine wheel. The compressor wheel is up there with the GT3582R as well, but it doesn't surge. It's available in TS housings too which is an added bonus.

Exactly! Waiting for a 2.4 lol! We just got bored and see what people called pre historic Greddy turbos can do. Just for informational puposes so that Evoers would have an idea not to pick such big turbos on a small 2.0l that you're not going to rev 9kRs.
