Evo9 turbo vs BBK Full (journal)
I decided to upgrade to the BBK Full because it holds boost better up top and is advertised to have stock-like spool. It also has much more potential for turning up the wick and staying in efficiency range with pump gas. My main purpose for the BBK Full is to use it for autocross, but still put up some great numbers at the drags once or twice a year.
One test I wanted to conduct was how the two turbos compare at similar boost levels. I am going to do an extensive analysis, keeping as many things being equal as I can. The only thing being changed is the turbo. I will try to keep as many variables as constant as possible since I am road tuning (weather, road, time of day, 24psi, AFR, tank of pump gas, both tuned to knock threshold, 3rd gear pulls from 2000-7000rpms).

Results
Conditions: Temps were 23-26C, 66-74% humidity, 101-102 kPa pressure, runs done between 9-11pm.
Power: Both hp and tq were increased, but significantly more hp.
2500-4000rpm: I like to benchmark this segment because you use it often times in autocross. This is lag zone. The BBK is a bigger turbo, so it lost 0.22 sec here (3rd gear, that is). It'll be less in 2nd gear, but this is something I expected.
4000-7000rpm: I use this range to get an idea of how well the car will perform at the drags. A 0.3 sec improvement in 3rd gear is huge for the same boost levels. I can only imagine how much time this will chip off my quarter mile if I'm already at 12.3s with the previous evo 9 turbo.
IDC@7000: Tuned at the same AFR, more fuel means more power, esp. at redline. This also indicates how well the turbo holds boost at 7000rpm.
Airflow@7000: It increased 213hz which again reinforces the idea that the BBK-Full flows much better up top.
Peak load/boost: This was sacrificed going towards a bigger turbo, but if you look at the power graph below, hp doesn't really lag as bad as how peak boost indicates.

Evo9 turbo opinions: This has been an awesome, versatile turbo that I've used for about 6 months. I have run 12.3@112 with a 1.7 60ft time with it. I have also had top time of day in autocross with street tires this year. The turbo spools quick and hard, but still acts like an 8 turbo when it comes boost drop at high rpms. If I didn't have a need for speed, I would keep this turbo since it's got some great bang for the buck.
BBK-Full turbo opinions (so far): I can feel the added lag since I've driven oem turbo for almost 8yrs now, but the power up top keeps pulling hard well past redline. You can see it in the dyno charts below. I'm very happy with how much power I've made at 24psi and am looking forward to how much more growth this turbo will provide.

To make a fair comparison you should run both turbos with the same wastegate actuator. Also, set both turbos at the same WG spring pressure.

BBK Full came in last night. I believe it also comes with an Evo9 wastegate actuator. The port job that CBRD did is incredible--glass like texture, mirror like finish

This goes in next weekend.

I can't wait for this I think these BBK turbos are awesome and this one is perfect for stock block limitations in my opinion. I see you have the S1 cams they should help it shine even more, I went with the s2 cams still awaiting on them to arrive but will be using the same turbo this summer.

Enjoy. I know I love my BBK. I don't have the most aggressive setup. Tuned for reliability and a good road/occassional track days. Can't complain at all. Still scares the bejesus out of me at times.

The BBK-Full is one badass turbo... the perfect stock block pump gas turbo imo. My only question is what turbo to go with for a built 2.3L when I get around to building it... BBK-B maybe?
Looking forward to your results! BBK are a great series of turbos...Within the past year I went from a BBK Full to BBK-B because I am power hungry!! haha...I had to purchase the Full before because the BBK-B wasn't released yet.

It's great to hear the optimism with this turbo
I updated the first post to include a chart of the data for easy reading. And I'm changing the averages to average all 5 pulls.
