for most people i think the BBK full is a better fit-

the BBKB is designed for higher boost applications-

anything under 28psi, the BBK full will make the best area under the curve-

just like our evo X turbos.

Cheers

Why would someone go with this turbo over a FP Variant?

Reds and Blacks seem to be a all out HP gain which is nice but I see he wants to do auto cross and I know the BBK's are an ideal choice form were the power bands lay, are smooth and consistent.

The BBK Full is in between a Green and a Red as I recall. It's a stock frame turbo capable of over 400 awhp on pump gas without loss in spool. For anybody looking for that power range its one of the best options available. I've noticed it has extremely good transient partial boost/throttle responsiveness. This is difficult to see in dyno charts which are WOT only.

I will say is the torque comes in so violently at WOT with this turbo that it becomes extremely important to stay above peak torque on the track. For me that's 4500 rpms to 7300 rpms, giving me a 2800 rpm power band on track.

I thought the bbk full is smaller than the HTA green. I estimate the OP's test will result in 25-30 awhp increase.

I think the BBK-B is a good fit for those with 2.3L or 2.4L stroker motors as well.

I think the green referred to was the OG "green" or non HTA version.

This is interesting. Going purely off these numbers, if the stock 9 turbo flows 44lbs and the BBK Full flows 51, that's a 15.9% increase. That'll bring my current power to 384/373 (me likey!). But in the real world, I know that's not how it works, heh.

I added a boost chart to see how the evo9 turbo hits peak and falls off to redline. This will also be good to compare to the new turbo.

I know it is considered a major sin to compare numbers from diff dynos, but given the similarities of your setup and mine - we are awfully close to each other with the stock 9 turbo (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...e-results.html). I will also have a BBK-full installed (plus a LICP, AMS FMIC, big injectors, etc.), plus a tune from shop with some BBK-full tuning experience that will remain namelss for now . It will be cool to compare numbers in the end, allowing for the even greater differences in dyno types, of course.

My plans were to run higher boost due to the fact the I will be running e85. Does the BBK-B handle the e85 well?

yes, that would be fine-

the BBK full makes monster torque at 30 psi---

I have done a few lately on 93, and run 30psi, they have all hit right around 400wtq.

In for results as well. I'd love to see a comparison like this between an FP Red, BBK-Full, and a Garrett GTX-3076
