EVO 7 no power

Hello all and greetings from Finland!

I have slightly tuned EVO 7 "JDM", it has now TD05HRA-20G turbo, 1000cc injectors, Walbro pump, stock cams, full 3" exhaust with 3" elbow.

but it maxes out only ~190kW at wheels with 1.7bar of boost. Guy who tuned the stock ecu on 4wheel maha brake dyno said that all parameters in ecu was ok. No problems with knocking or anything else.

The car runs great on street, just good as stock. No visible problems.

I have no ideas where are my lost 50kW Previous owner had +400hp with this turbo.

Here are few dyno charts as attachment, the first one had the same mods exept 3" exhaust.

Thanks in advance.

so the only thing that has changed since you got the car was a new tune from the guy you mention?

The car was completly in stock shape when i got it. I have done all these modifications.

Clutch is also stock, i dont know how many km's driven. Is it possible that clutch is slipping on dyno? Dyno operator said that the car have to handle more load on this type dyno than street.

ok so when you mention the below what do yo mean if the car was stock with no mods when you got it how could it have made 400hp?

Sorry, i meant that the turbo should be capable +400hp. I bought this turbo as used and its previous owner had dynoed +400hp with this turbo.

Never dynoed 400hp from this car.

Did you do a boost leak test?

Something's not right there, my 7 made 300 whp on the stock turbo, 330 on a IX turbo. Boost leak is a possibility, what are you using for boost control? Do you have some logs? If you like, email me the ROM image if you can, PM me for address.

We have now inspected the intake system and done the boost test. There was no leaks.

Boost control is stock ecu controlled bypass valve and 1.5bar wastegate actuator witch came with the turbo. This should be ok because it spools very fast and maintain the boost just like programmed to ecu?

I'm planning to go inertia type dynamometer, some people said that the maha brakedyno where this car was tuned, shows sometimes quite low or incorrect hp's. If i remember correctly the dyno operator had some issues with the grip on dyno and some WOT runs the car pulled almost the side of the dyno rollers. I dont now if this is normal..

Here are few evoscan logs and ROM image. I changed the log files extensions to .txt

The stock boost control system is not that good with the stock boost control solenoid. It can really only bleed enough to hit 1.2 Bar boost, so I seriously doubt you are making 1.7 Bar, I tried for a long time to get better boost control on the stock system and went to a 3 port instead, which is much better. Looking at the load calc you are likely running around 270 load which does match about 1.2 Bar

You injector scaling is really odd, it's set to 916, very weird. Can you log IPW and trims and post? Can you get a wideband and look at AFR?

Ok thanks. I will log, it takes few days. Do you think tactrix 3-port is good boost solenoid and is it easy to re-program in ecu?

I logged baro & airtemp compensated 2-byte load on kompensoitu.txt file and the peak load was then 260. This should be 1.6bar of boost? I'm sorry about the short WOT logs. It will hit above speedlimits so fast, i have no change to lose my driving licence to local gestapo.

260 load is not a direct relation to 1.6 Bar boost, the load is only calculated from airflow, and something like an different airfilter will change the load without changing the boost. The tatrix 3 port has had good results. It is easy enough to tune, I'd suggest starting with 50% duty cycle and also no TBEC, as this makes it way easier to set up. Are you on stock con rods? The stock rods in your VII will be getting old now, so take it easy with the boost. I ran 1.9 bar for a long time on my stock VII and blew a rod cruising down the motorway!
