Em, I need to put mine on a diet. Same car as yours. Im not saying at all that I dont believe you, but I would LOVE to hear a list of where I can save the weight.

You should set the smoothing higher than 1. Buschurs is set to 60. On such a low filter, something like a tire out of balance can jump the hp number up with wavy lines near the end of the dynosheet. Looks like about 740hp or so on filter of 60.
Congrats on the car and testing the new turbo. I could hope to get my weight down like that in time.

Look awesome, but I'm having a hard time coming up with 2700 lbs. Factory weight is a little more than 3000 lbs. I see some weight saving stuff but 300 lbs less?

I would be happy if the torque curve was my hp curve, this car is solid. Hope he reaches all his goals with it.

Great looking car!! How much boost were you running on that run? For the guys doubting that weight it's not very hard to achieve with the right parts and removal of unnecessary items.

And I'm having the hardest time believing that this car weighs the same as DB's car, considering that his car has a 1/2 radiator, no AC, no large intake pipe like yours, and in general has been on a diet for YEARS.Originally Posted by EmeryatSTM

Put it on a Cat scale (and also state the fuel load as that can swing the weight 100 pounds either way), and prove us wrong.
This is just a discussion of facts. I'm a huge supportor of STM, have spent quite a bit with them, and will continue to. And I'm just using DB's car as a reference point.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure the filter value is just for smoothing of the lines, there isn't any number jumped up, it would just look smoother as it achieved said power. Originally Posted by Anarchy99

As to everyone questioning the weight of the car, like it's been said before. Drop the car off with a blank check and they will do it for you. A full build/modification list has been posted what more do you want?

100% agree, just like you said alot of the mods are cutting some serious weight, don't forget the ditching of the ACD unit, and a few other tricks emery has up his sleeve help too. can't give away all your secrets, gotta figure it out yourself..Originally Posted by badev0
I'd say its pretty easy with an 05+ RS seeing as the doors, roof, and trunk lid are aluminum rather than steel. Tons of **** on his mod list are lighter then stock.
as for referance maybe others should take a look at the weight reduction thread..

Let her eat. It's got more dyno miles than street at this point.

Davids car and mine are very similar. Originally Posted by TurboTravis

Just a few of the small differences that add up fast are.
Davids car/ My car
SS ic pipes / Aluminum
SS cat back and test pipe/ Ti catback and aluminum test pipe
Exedy triple clutch/ tilton twin carbon
I think 04 has steel door beams (I believe his is an 04) / Aluminum in 05
I think Davids car has Aero parts in it that also add weight/ Mine does not
Other than that our cars are very close.
He does have a half radiator but I doubt its much lighter than the stock one if any. Even though its half size it still probably has a thiner core so it makes up the difference.
I'm sure my car is heavier in some spots than his, but just the difference in the clutch is around 10 lbs. Hell, my whole exhaust probably only weighs about 15 lbs.
I did not weight my car with gas in it though.
Hope that helps.
