well a couple of hard launches and the green died, bearing locked up. Fp were really good about it and repaired it for free. when i had it on it made 405 whp and 426 torque. It felt good but the black feels better.

i think it will finish up with pump and meth around the 475 mark which is good for our climate and dyno etc

well the saga continues. The car is down again. It was running really well can I was planning to go to the dyno when the turbo gave up

I was at the time at 1/4 throttle with low boost, like 15-18psi. the afr's were real good and there was no knock when the turbo shaft just snapped at the exhaust wheel. Even the impellar is still good and the intake is spinning like normal, the shaft just seems to have sheared after the bearing. I have a video but it seems too long to put up i will try to make a shorter version. Has anyone every seen this happen and can offer an explaination?

I think I am just unlucky, so I will send it back to FP and have them repair it.

This turbo has not seen more than 28Psi of boost and has an o2dump with a forge recirculating BOV. Last made 450 whp on a dynojet, as i said not even pushing the car

Wow, sorry to hear that. I am surprised that the ball bearing version failed on you. Good luck with that.

Faulty shaft ?

The shear ability of those shafts have to be really high, surprised to see this occur.

That's some serious power for pump gas and lack of mods. Congrats.

Edit: Just read the bad news. Please update with what FP has to say. What oil were you running?

well I will get back the turbo today and I must say that Fp must be the best company to deal with for after sales. I wont go into the details but will say that the service I got from them was second to none.

Thanks guys you have a customer for life

How is the transient response (say at 5500 rpm) of the BB Black compared to the JB HTA Green?
