My buddy's FP red (JB) car also on pump always pulls away from a roll until my powerband kicks in but drag race is a whole different story.
Maybe I am reading this wrong but the red wont distroy the ef4 in the power department. I don't recall seeing a red make over 700 hp in any way shape or form

Brian, I believe he was/is referring to the powerband of the FP Red on a 2.4LR in comparison to the EF4 on a 2.4LR.

He has to be as there is no way to compare the two turbos.

Which should definitely be a much more "fun" powerband. Are you getting the JB or DBB version?

usable power band is what makes a turbo car fun and fast.

there are 100s of cars that have gone 9s and 10s with the red.

the fastest EF4 time I could find is 11.4. laggy crappy powerbands make cars difficult to get down the track.

to say I am not a fan of the EF4 is an understatement and lets leave it at that.

Be good fellahs as this is not a "EF4 vs. Turbo X" thread. It is true that I will have a greater powerband with the smaller turbo and there is no debating that. We all have different uses for our EVOs based on what we are interested in. Me, I spend all of my time on the streets here in Arizona and I need torque on demand which I am sure the FP Red will deliver over the EF4 simply because (again) it is smaller. I have not said anything bad about the EF4 other than it is not the turbo for my needs and goals. I am more than happy with surpassing the 500whp+ mark on E85 and anything in the 475wtq+ mark at 30-32PSI will be fantastic. I know what my goals are and I will not need (nor want) any more power whatsoever. Since I have wanted an EVO, I have always wanted 500whp safely and still have a great and fun car to drive. For the debate about the EF4 vs. Turbo X, we will have to save that for another day and another thread. This thread was/is about the results I made with the EF4, which I was happy with. And my next thread will be with the FP Red, which I know I will be happy with as well.

Not sure if this link will work, but it shows an EF4 powered Evo running 10.2 @ 138mph on just 30psi. Said Evo weighed 3050lbs with driver at the time. Perhaps the discrepancy in results is based on the severe difference in number of units sold

Where did an EF4 make 700whp? I must have missed it.

That is a lot of power. I thought I saw them say 610whp was the highest power they recommend. Maybe that was EF3.
