Levar.. ya i know i said to start them at 3000rpm. it would hit sooner if you started around 2500.. also exhaust leaks pre turbine housing are horrible and will hurt spool badly also. if it was after the turbine housing though it wont hurt anything.
just for some comparison heres jeff's high comp 2L with a ef4 e85 vs your e85 pull for response comparisons.

jeff in red yours in blue.
your 2.4L is still showing its muscles. (jeff obviously had older hardware though.. map didn't even offer the turbosmart stuff back then).
as you can see, the 2.4 vs the 2.0.. the more displacement spooling the turbo faster is giving you 100wtq more at 4000RPM.. which is massive.

Based on my results I think you will love the stock 9 turbo. If I was able to afford it I would love to try a BB HTA Green. I will not run a JB small turbo as I feel a 2.4 will kill the bearing section pretty quickly trying to feed the larger motor on kill. I think it would run like a stock turbo on steroids!
I will do some logs this weekend with the JMFab O2 hopefully and see how it has affected things. I am going to swap to new spark plugs and put my SpoolinUp back on. I swapped it to troubleshoot before I did a compression test because my plug in my wacked cylinder was soaked with fuel. I moved coils around on the plate to make sure it wasnt a wacky coil but the car still ran crappy and I was running out of time so I slapped the stock coils on and brought the SpoolinUp with me to swap back after I install new plugs. With the stock coils it does miss under load sometimes so I cant log until I take care of the plugs. You and I are going to rock out these small turbo 2,4L setups with HUGE smiles!

you will love the red. will destroy the ef4 in the " TURBOS DO NOT MAKE POWER, SET-UPS DO."
department
from BR
The best car we ever built was Project White. I built a 2.3 for it also, 10:1 and ran it on 93 octane and E85. I used the Red though and I have to say I think that is the ultimate street car combination. The response was simply outstanding and the power up top was disgusting. The car ran 10.3 at 138 mph on E85 at full weight, I loved that combination.

As for that Buschur quote, I have to say that it is very encouraging to see 20+ years experience give good feedback on a set up. It should be even better since I have a 2.4LR. Needless to say, I am very excited to see how things all come together. Once Tom finishes the tune, I/we will make another results thread.
I made over 500whp with the EF4 on straight pump gas and yes it is laggy compared to smaller turbos such as the FP red but will not have any problems pulling away on the top-end. I believe Levar's exhaust leak issues probably did not help either.

My friend, everyone knows that the EF4 can make 500whp on pump/93-octane. I am not sure what you are getting it. I never said anything about laggy as opposed to needing my power band shifted to the left a tad and still be able to accomplish my goals of 500whp+ on E85 (which the FP Red will do). I have already stated at least 2-3 times that the pre-turbine exhaust lead (which I thought were worn out lifters) did not help my EF4 in the performance (spool) department.

I was basically responding to the comment that FP red will destroy the EF4 in the power department. If you are talking about all around "street" performance and response then yes a smaller turbo is probably a good choice because even with the big "peak" numbers, everyday driving is not as "fun". My buddy's FP red (JB) car also on pump always pulls away from a roll until my powerband kicks in but drag race is a whole different story.
