look at the red line. says 37.7psi. its e85. if not e85, then its some very high octane gas.

you did exactly what i did Matt. felt power, got paranoid, then had the engine built.

I run a BR Race FMIC. I never encountered any knock issues when I lived in FL

BR, is the knock you are experiencing with the Kelfords false knock or real knock?

Ebay strikes again with eBay Inter-coolers!! I can't believe people are still using these.

What is wrong with the "Crap Exhaust"?

I got the fmic directly from AMS about 5-6 years ago and paid something like $800. I highly doubt it is a knockoff. The exhaust system was on the car when I bought it...tanabe medalion touring exhaust.

The car with the dyno graph is his.

Bottom line is this FMIC isn't that great.

I do not feel the knock I've seen with kerlfords is false knock.

Are you referring to the OG AMS Street Core FMIC? I was under the impression that they were Garret cores and VERY good, handling up to something the size of a 35R much less a stock frame turbo? I run one of my BB FP RED and the exit never seems to be hot? You yourself did a big test years ago when Ebay began selling these units and you even tested the AMS Street core and it had an amazing record of cooling. The ebay unit shot up 80 degrees.

Sorry to ask for more detail, but I have Kelfords as well and plan to use them in my 2.3 build (which shortblock you are working on now). So you think the knock is real detonation? I thought Kelfords are just "noisy".

Kelfords ramp rates and centerlines dont seem to work as is, I know how they compare to other similar camshafts. Dave and I have noticed this (and commented) on it for the last few years. One thread was deleted for some reason, but the fact that remains is they are noisy...like detonation. They also make 20whp less on average because of the shape of the lobe.
