Thank Sal I am aware that both use 76mm billet wheels, if the gtx3576r has an even better turbine wheel 68 vs 60 on the 3076r then why does the gtx3076r get rated at 640 on garrets website vs the 600 for the gtx3576r? I was thinking there was a difference in comp wheel fin shape or something? The gtx3076R is smaller in every way yet is rated for more power...

That is surely a mistake they should read like this:

gtx3076r = 600hp
gtx3576r = 640hp

You would think it was a simple typo if the 3076 was rated at 400-640 but it's not... and there 3576 is rated at 400-640 but it's not lol.
So according to garrett the 3576 is crappier for small engine and makes less max power.

i have used .82 and am currently on the 1.06 rear housing and so little to no loss in spool. Comparing to the other boys here in australia i make the same if not more power and spool 500-600rpm faster than those with a 35R.

I have been using this turbo for awhile and still am hesitant to go larger as i can pretty much run anyone in any gear theres been a lot of comparisons between the gt vs gtx and 30 vs 35 and really it still doesnt prove worthy of doing the switch from a 30 to 35.

Heres a good read

You have the gt3076r? Must not be a t3 5 bolt then since the largest is .82 in my application.

What do you guys think about swapping to a ETS vband manifold and a tial turbine but in .82. Would that help mitigate some loss of spool going up to a gtx3576?

I think at this stage i'm better holding off till someone makes a standard facing twin scroll manifold to take advantage of the .82 garrett vband twin scroll housing. (if they even offer that size) that way I can crack 500whp and not suffer too much in the low/midrange.
Updated after installing the DTT EGR plate to measure backpressure. Solid line is the EGR pressure reading dotted is my boost reading.

i would ditch the recirc dump and go with a .82 vband housing, it flows extremely well and i made 500whp (although with a honda) on only 17psi 93octane

I didnt see this was recirc'd on top of it. Yes that needs to be truly external to maximise results.

i am getting the twin scroll t3 manifold (for spool) and v band down pipe. using 1.06 ts hot side. on the 3076r. i saw some graphs on a stock bottom evo 8 and the torque hit around 4-4.5k rpm. 500+whp till red line at 8k. going to try the setup my self.

A mate of mine went from a normal .82 GT3076R to a .82 FP HTA GT3076R recently, both were run to their limits on his stock bottom end RB25 Skyline on E70 (on a Mainline dyno, heart breaker dyno like you wouldn't believe) - the HTA shows better power from start to end... definitely a great upgrade if you just have the run of the mill Garrett unit.

This is the first time I have seen a straight up comparison between both units on the same car:
