So I've been reading several of Sparky's WGA rants and I've decided to take mine off and cut about 3/8 off it with a cutoff wheel. See if I can get it preloaded a bit more and go from there. Looks like for my goals and desired boost (25-26 psi), I'll be fine doing that and save a little money.

I've ran the stock wga with no real issues or slow spool.

And we have more! Got my boost leak tester today. Had leaks at the BOV flange, mid-section of the UICP, a huge one by the battery and, once I got all those sealed up, my TB is leaking like a sieve. Funny thing is, it's not leaking by the throttle cable or the BISS screw, it's leaking up by the vacuum port connections. I wanted to upgrade that SOB anyway, looks like I can now

And we have positive results! I'm still on spring pressure but after the added preload and boost leak test I am seeing full spool, albeit only 16-17 psi, at or before 3500 RPM in every gear. I ordered shaft seals to get those installed this week. I did some more reading and I think the air I was feeling was coming out by the TPS and I forgot there was a seal there as well.

I'm still confused as to why, after hacking 3/8" off my WG actuator and *still* bottoming out the turnbuckle, why I'm only getting a little over 16 psi. I imagine it will go up a little when I fix the TB but I don't know, I guess I just expected more...

Before and after overlay:

I now have some cleanup to do as I'm hitting parts of the map I've never really hit before but, that's a good thing. Power is down but I can chalk that up to the temp being almost 40* higher today when I did the pull than on the 418 pull, as well as dropping a little more boost. The latest run was my first run since going back to the 3 port and I was just checking that my boost level was a sane one. She can take more, I know that much.
