My single 416 not rewired ran out of steam around the same power so I had to add in another 255 and hard wire it so now I won't have any fueling issues for a bit. Good results though and times for that high elevation. Would be a mid 10 second car easy down here in the great state of Texas.

Thanks Aaron. seems like that mivec gear mod works pretty damn good. that spool is really quick. I just picked up some R2's for my evo also. you guys did a great job helping GSC make those they kick ***!

CT9,

Thanks for the explanation. There is no way you'd only get 11s with that much to the wheels. I assumed traction was ***, track prep *** and you might have missed a gear. And sure enough that was it. Don't you feel you can go 10's with better track prep and tires?

if you look at the time slip you can see its capable of a 10 sec pass with a better 60ft. his tcase is shot i think, so he has to get that fixed now.

also, when talking power, you should refer to mph more so than ET, because ET can vary based on a lot of factors. so can mph though. a missed shift can shave 3-4mph away fairly easy if the car doesn't have enough power to gain it back.

however always go by mph when trying to figure out a vehicle's power level, because too many things can alter the ET performance. but you are correct, it should go 10's with a clean pass.

R2 would be better on a 2.0L then s3 i think. if you're after all low end and response you should stick with a S1. if you have a midrange turbo like a fp black on a 2.0 and want more top end but not much spool loss you want S2. If you don't mind loss downlow for gains uptop then you can go to a S3 or R2.

I don't know 100% what the R2 does on the evo 8. looking at lift only its bigger then a S3 cam. 12/12mm on both cams.

R2 was designed based on 2.2-2.4 though. but im sure it will shine if you throw it in a 2.0L also since the S3 does also. it really comes down to what you are trying to do with your powerband and what you can sacrifice.

I am running R2's with my 2.2 this time around.

Quick update: Transfer case will be back in the car next tuesday. Next races are July 12th. I think if I drop tire pressure and get my 2 step dialed in I can run 10s on all seasons. Next step after that is to buy some M&Hs. I'll keep you guys posted.

Hi. I just finish my 2.4l built too. But i was wondering if u like the r2 better than the s3 for the 2.4L?
Some say the R2 are made better for the bigger 2.4 than the 2.0.

Personally I run the S3 in my 2.4. I have a set of R2 in my garage also. I never ran the R2 yet so i cant say. They both perform very well though.

I have a similar setup like yours.
I know it's been awhile but I was wondering if you have any issue with your car now after 2-3 years?
