Like others have said, a meth kit is a band-aid. However, sometimes band-aids work. I ran a meth kit on my IX for well over 3 years at 32lbs of boost on a stock block and had no issues whatsoever. I recently tore the engine down to build it but there were no signs of any damage to the stock internals. They're beautiful actually.

I am by no means saying a meth injection kit is the solution for you, I'm just saying they do work and work very well when set up correctly with the proper fail safes.
thats good to know! Which kit were you running? and yes i am in east Orlando

My kit was just pieced together by a local Orlando shop that I'm not even sure still exists. I pulled it out of my car a few weeks ago....I'm in brevard county, if you want it you can have it just come pick it up. I don't need it, I'm switching to race gas full time after my build. Shoot me a text and I can give you some more details....pm me for my number.

I don't understand how it is that you wanted 9:1 motor and then the builder decided to put in 10:1 because he had what ever issue the motor had without consulting you first about it. As far as your knock, put some race gas in and get it tuned. If you are still getting knock chances are you have more issues than just the tune.

Do you live near a dirt bike or ATV shop they sell tons of race gas. from E85 to C16 and all inbetween. Maybe even VPimport(120+oct i beleive)

Yeah, your builder hosed you. 10:1 compression will only work on race gas/e85/meth well. It makes your pump gas maps much weaker than running a 9:1 piston because you hit your timing/boost limits much quicker on pump due to the lack of octane rating and compression.

***on a side note I would clarify in your first post it's not an AMS built motor, just their kit. Compression for fuel usage is one of the first things they talk to people about when building motors for them. I.e. not an AMS f up, it was your local shop.
