John Bradley - any Comments on the bold part of the quote above, and would it be possible to broaden the top of the Power Curve any more with a different combination? Not that it would be useful in a street situation (it probably blows the tires off the car with the 2,500 RPMs of 500+ TQ. it has now), but just curious if you had any thoughts you could share on the possibility of broadening the top of the Power Curve more.

Thank You in advance for your comments.

On this car we didnt really intend to take it to 42psi on that dyno session so the timing was still really low. There was only 13* in the map out the top so the possibility is that it was way below what it needed and dropped because of that. I have seen it on other cars, the most recent one that comes to mind was an EF3 that we converted to E85. I will look for that dyno sheet in a second.

Okay here is the example I was thinking of-

Both pulls were on E85 at the same boost setting but the first pull (red, 425whp) was still the pumpgas timing. The car actually had lost some power over what it did on pumpgas though as it was at 9* and between that and the extra 30% fuel in the chamber (high octane to boot) it actually dropped some. The second pull (green, 459whp) was adding 9* in at 8k and then making sure the curve was right in between. As you can see it picked up and removed that "falling off" appearance to that turbo at that boost level. Also it illustrates that timing kills EGT and you end up losing boost as a result since available energy to the turbine wheel is reduced.

Take a look at the video. You can see the plots from the various blends and the power is not dropping off up top as much.

Surprisingly the car holds traction very well. The pulls are so smooth that you can easily handle the car with one hand on the wheel.

Not in this case. Its fine and making good power. I'll let the owner comment further if he wants.

Sorry I don't visit as much lately.

The motor is holding up quite well. This was the second 2.2L motor that English put together and I know mine and the first are still on the road. I have had little things break on the car as time has gone by but so far so good with the motor.

I took the car down to Texas while I was working there. Here is a picture of it at Kozmic motorsports dyno day back in march. The car made a little over 700 on their mustang dyno while on e75.
