Evo 9 Stock engine/cams FP DBB RED E85 500whp Dynojet
Thats a nice looking graph Tom. All of your cars run really well man.
From the beginning my car has been choppy. Different cars dyno different ways. Some factors could be wiring, map sensor,SD settings, coils, wires etc.. Once we changed to a different ecu we were able to make live changes and adjust some of the noise out from the map sensor and things improved.
The stock Ecu does require alot of tinkering. The Evo Ecu is one of the best stock ECU's on the planet. It was developed over a decade from Rallying and its an extremely good ecu for its time. We are all really lucky that Tephra and others broke the code and rewrote it for next to nothing for everyone to use.

Well if the tuner is not used to the stock ecu he did the right thing moving to something he is more comfortable with. That is a perfect example of a responsible person/tuner/shop. I have spoke to Tim before over there.
The Evo ECU is so so compared to some stock ECU, but as you said for its time it was great. If I showed you what a GTR stock ecu does you would be pretty blown away. Lets just say the car has two widebands from the factory on each bank and it is a full closed loop operation system which can compensate for up to 25% trim correction on and off boost.
I still favor the stock ecu in the evo because I can make it do whatever I want. I wish most people who dog the stock ecu were local to me because 9/10 will be mind blown to see the power my car extracts vs the drive ability. Anyone can get in it and go like a stock car.
We still compensate tephra, but also lets not forget about JCSBanks the other master who was responsible for half the stuff found in the GTR ecu to date who rarely got any credit.
One thing that sucks is stock ecu in the evo cant correct WOT since its open loop, where as other EMS can.

I wanted something that spooled well and made good power. I was torn between the green, red, black. The Red seemed to be the most balanced out of the three for spool/power. I'm pretty happy with the MHI housing Red on a 2.0. I've been able to auto x, road race, drag race and daily drive it at 450-500whp and for over a year on E85.
Earlier this year I took the car out at 450 and ran auto x, a few laps at Daytona speedway and went to the local drag strip. A few tanks of E85 being the only change.

Ohh, gotcha! I just had Kevin at Evolution Dynamics build me a 8.8.1 comp 2.3l, stage 2 head, 272 cams, rev2 intake mani, and an HTA dual ceramic bb FP Green with 84mm surge cover. I wanted to keep it strictly 93 octane. Maybe ocassionally a tank of 100+ for auto-x. I too was torn between the red and green. But ultimately chose the Green. I'm hoping for 400whp+-.

What fuel and boost?
Also, is this an HTZ Red or the older HTA?
EDIT: Nevermind. Saw the new thread
Looking forward to seeing how the 2.2 does.
