Wideband help

I'm looking for a good wideband to use for tuning, and to datalog AFR, boost, etc. I was looking at AEM Failsafe, and Zeitronix, but there are a lot of options. Which Zeitronix model is comparable to the AEM Failsafe? Any recommendations out there?

Well a wideband will log just AFR if you want boost and "etc" you'd want a some kind of combination gauge . If you are sticking with stock ECU and ECUFlash then the AEM wideband is tested and true'd. I've had mine for nearly 10 years with no issues logging over that period.

I really like my Zeitronix. I used a jumper harness. And it's all wired directly into the ECU so I can log everything through the OBD2 port with tactrix/EvoScan.

You can wire in any quality o2 sensor, either narrow or wideband one, on any ecu, as long as the ecu's hardware and software supports it, has the feature built it that is, otherwise you'll need to re-programme its e-prom. If you have a stock ecu the zeitronix is a good option. If you just need to monitor the afrs, a cheap good option is a bosch LSU 4.9 5 wire o2 sensor combined to either an innovate, aem, or prosport digital cluster gauge. Mount the sensor on the downpipe, somewhere in the middle of it, which is away enough from the turbine but not too far for the temp, density and pulses of the gasses to be altered at a degree which would give you a not so accurate reading.

I was looking at the AEM Failsafe, and the new AEM X-Series Wideband. Any thoughts?

AEM X-Series with OBDII connectivity

Looking at this wideband. What do I need to log boost? A 4 bar MAP sensor and ECU tweak?

I have an innovate Mtx-l in my 9 and love it. Can't speak on the data logging. Came with software and necessary cables though

From the documentation there it uses the CAN bus to get this info back. The X is the first Evo with CAN AFAIR so is this is for an older evo.......

Yes though depending on boost you should be able to get away with a 3 bar if you plan to run a max of 30psi ish.

Yes though depending on boost you should be able to get away with a 3 bar if you plan to run a max of 30psi ish.
EVO IX MR. Yeah, I know I'm well under the psi limit, I was just saying that one in particular as in the only hardware I need is to upgrade the MAP sensor.

wire a MAP sensor into the ECU... good for logging but much better for boost control... you need to tweak the rom to do that but there are instructions on tis forum... no more boost overshooting on spool up..

On the USDM cars you swap the USDM sensor for the JDM/Evo X sensor. That's it. No need to wire an extra sensor in.
