How much WHP?

Getting my evo 8 tuned soon and I'm looking for 400-450 whp and want to know if it's possible with my parts. If not, then I'll swap them out. GSC S2s, 1000cc FIC high z injectors, stock turbo, ETS speed density intake, JDC COP, downpipe, test pipe, catback, stock block. Getting tuned on E85 and 91.

The stock turbo with stock rods on E85 will make about 400-410whp and taper on these cars on a dynojet.

If you are having the car tuned by a reputable tuner they should leave it at an acceptable level.

An HTA or a FP Red , larger injectors would be the next step IMO.

Getting it tuned by Roni from Rbuilt here in California. Used to be JRP.

I missed that you have an 8 turbo. It won't make as much as the 9 but will still be fun .

Well it's a 2005 8 turbo so it has a 10.5 hotside like the 9

I've seen his posts with tunes. Even when they had a Mustang Dyno, it was calibrated high. And I've seen his Virtual Dyno charts too. Also calibrated high. He appears to be dishonest about real power his tunes make. I've been screwed by him so i don't recommend him for his honesty (he will promise you the world until he has your money, then you're on your own). Good luck with him.

I’ll report back with how the tuning goes. There were some delays in his work but the head rebuild he did for me looks really good.

You can't really tell what he did without measuring it. But post some pictures anyway.

No intercooler?

I say 380+ on a Mustang dyno and 400+ on a dynojet.

Evo 9 turbo or a HTA71 would be a wise upgrade over the Evo 8 turbo for 400 - 450 whp on a Dynoject. 450whp on a Mustang is like 500whp dynojet for which you'll need a FP54/FP Green. The limitation are the stock rods ~400 lb-ft (Dynojet), so a larger turbo like a FP Red/GTX3076/G30/5858 will allow you to make the power with a lower torque value keeping the stock rods safe.

A FP54 or Green at 500whp makes a ton of Torque so the tuner then needs to limit the torque.

I'm assuming you've addressed all the other bottlenecks like O2 housing, lower intercooler pipe, intercooler etc. ? What fuel pump are you running ?

I made 398 with out cams on a mustang dyno on e85 stock 10.5 evo 8 turbo at 26 psi so i see no problem with 400 plus on the stock turbo specially with gsc s2 those are a pretty big cam for the stock turbo
