Have you had any experience with the Artec exhaust manifold for the stock frame turbos in your shop?
I look forward to hearing about your new turbo, best of luck mate.
On the X they're great. Spool same as stock (unlike the other cast stainless piece available) and they also make more power. We see about 15-20whp more with an 18k on E85.

Haven't done an 8/9 one yet.
I’m assuming the 15-20whp is from the Artec manifold alone, on the X with 18k on E85? We could take this to pm if you require it.
Thanks Sean I appreciate your time.

On the X, yes. We usually see about 460-470whp on E85 with an 18k. The Artec manifold let's it push to around 480-490ish. With stock sealed motor, including stock cams.
What gains are through the midrange Sean & how is the torque? The MHI 18K seems like a great street turbo, are they similar in power & torque to the FP Green HTA that flowed 54lb/min (not the lastest HTZ)?
What benefits do you see with your new turbo using the Artec over a tubular exhaust manifold?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge as you always do, a lot of us never knew you ran your own shop, well done.

The 18k is made by Mitsubishi so I didn't get updated aero.
We don't do tube manifolds on stock frame X's so I don't have data there. But it looses nothing vs a stock manifold. And it also doesn't crack like a stock manifold, or like a tubular manifold eventually will.
The gains are everywhere. Basically it lets us run more boost. So it picks up across the rpm where we're not limited by stock rods.
The G30 spooled a smidge later on the dyno. Wasn’t too noticeable on the street. And easily made about 70whp more, with much better transient response. This was 30psi on E85. It was all the boost the turbo would make. Have have them on 4 2.2L build now, this the number they all make, at same/similar boost and timing. Pretty much max for the turbo.
Thanks a lot for the reply. Bet you’ ll recommend this stuff with v band manifold rather than FP red with twin scroll mani for this kind of power ? (600 whp range)
Seems to be hard to find something with MHI housing (twin scroll), I’ve seen those G25-660 but I bet the turbine would be too restrictive, they flow a bit less than a red according to comp maps
