I'll be doing the same with aluminum.

i will more then likely use chromoly so i can have the brackets and stuff welded back on to it. i still use the radio and heater controls. if your not using that stuff then i would make it out of aluminum.

I'd agree with using chromoly. That bar ties the middle of the vehicle together and plays a large part in retaining the strength of the chassis.

If you use aluminum how do you plan on attaching the steering wheel column?

Bolts

I too agree bracing the chassis with GOOD pickup points would be worthwhile if you're in the dash... otherwise you're better off just making it out of .02X wall moly tubing.

Let us know! I have my dash and junk out but wasn't planning on removing that bar. I have wiring madness going on right now.

I know the 05+ RS has the aluminum door crash beams. No GSR's do.

i hate when you people motivate me. ha. i just pulled the dash out. how in the hell do you remove the air ba from the passenger side off the dash.

the dash bar should be out later tonight. i got to go eat and then run out for a little bit so ill finish that later. my eyes see all kinds of weight we do not need under the dash.

the wiring under here. um. idk where to begin. i have the defi link box with 3 defi gauge's, hks TT Type 1, and the has F-CON and all its wires and BS. i have a hell of a mess to clean up.
