Need help install the compustar alarm

Hello, This is a question to those who have done an alarm install on an EVO. I finally got all the wires sorted out on the alarm system and now Im ready to start tapping.

I've been following Apexsilver's wiring direction but I have a few question.

1) Which white plug is it when it says "WHITE PLUG AT BOTTOM" (more specifically left and right park light). Is it the wire harness located on the lower part of the fusebox or by the kick panel.
2) Did you guys have to use the disarm since there is no built in alarm on the EVO or you guys skipped it?
3) for the parking light, I imagine you have to spit the wire from the alarm so you can have a tap for the left and right?
4) Do we need to use the keysense for anything?
5) Power lock/unlock, there are 3 white harness there, can anyone tell me which is the correct one?
6) Did anyone use their horn with the alarm or skipped?

Sorry about these question but I dont want to screw anything up. I just afraid that I tap on the correct color wire but on the wrong harness.

Thanks in advance.

I can try to help you out since I did one a few weeks ago:

1) I just tapped the dimmer wire instead, it is easier for me to find seeng as I tapped it already for my boost gauge. Left and right doesn't matter then.

2) no

3) see number one

4) no

5) Ehh.. can't remember, I think it was the bottom one. BTW: the door unlock wasn't pink for me, it was white. I just used a test light, grounded it and started tapping the harness wires until it unlocked the door.

6) no

Good luck!

rice_rocket88,

I read your post on the other thread about the power lock wire, I think it was purple on one side of the harness and white (or some other color that you mentioned) on the other. I will keep an eye out on that. Was the unlock and lock wire on the same harness? Im assuming that it would be but not sure.

Also, how difficult was it to add the immobilizer bypass module? I understand some people have trouble with this cuz of the ring position.

thanks for the quick reply.

Hmm, yes it was on the same harness, come to think of it, it is the one on the bottom. There should be two that are higher, one that is lowest.

The immobilizer ring was easy, I just anchored it around the key hole and it fit fine without it falling off. Not sure why people said it was difficult? I already had it all taken apart to get to the ignition wires.

I think the lock/unlock is purple/lt green? Just look for the harness with both the colors in it(should be in drivers kick or next to fuse box)

For the record, the lock is indeed not purple on the evo9. It was yellow like rice-rocket88 mentioned.

I got all the wiring complete. the basic alarm function works but I cant seem to get the car to reservation mode (compustar alarm). oh well, i gotta dig some more info on it.

Apexsilver06MR do you have a compustar? are you familiar with how to get the car into reservation mode? Also, did you verify that the tachwire is indeed behind the gauge cluster or the coil?

thanks for all the help.

OK guys, Im really loosing hope and patience : ( I really dont know what else is left to do.

I have tap the engine sensor to the black/green and black/yellow on either ignition coil and I still cant get the system to learn the tach.

I check the voitage on the black/green and black/yellow and it's 12v negative.
I check the continuity from the tap on the coil to the inside cabin all the way to the brain and continuity is good.

If any one can please tell me how else I can test for proper connection is greatly appreciated. is my alarm system faulty?

Thanks everyone.
