thats why his car is his and yours is yours -

his computer can control all his perfromance, THERE IN NOW, LEAVE HIM ALONE, its in, its done, and it looked hard, so its not coming out. Now, you should really do an entire build on this with pictures and other informative stuff.

The point isn't just to have a lot of songs... The point is to have an infinitely expandable platform for navigation, data logging, tuning, additional gauges, all the media you could ever want (music, movies, tv shows, internet radio stations, etc), and to be able to access the web while away from home. I know a couple guys that streamed a cross-country road trip onto their website with live webcams inside and outside of the car.

this is the most ridicules thing i have ever seen, unless your a soccer mom and u need endless entertainment for your 4 out of control kids i see no point in this, my lord your not night rider, or bond! you could have added some tasteful go fast bits for what you have tied up in your mobile command center !

I'm amazed at all the people in this thread who're berating the OP. Have none of you ever bought a GPS, used your OBD-II port, or even upgraded your stereo? Then what on earth are you knocking on this guy for?? Don't be pissed that he's got a nicer setup in his ride than you do... do what I'm doing and install one yourself!

I think people tend to hate on people who have things that they don't.. so they find a way to knock it down so that they'll feel better about not having it.

Truthfully this car pc is over 2 years old.. and their has been massive improvements in pc technology to keep this really simple.

I for one have a car pc that i've posted pictures for.. possibly under my Jedi_Gill name.
and alot of things have changed.. (I definitely have some in my for sale thread with a girl posing for me)

For one.. the pc doesn't need to fit in the trunk.. It's small enough to go under my seat.. The DVD rom drive sticks up from the front so I can load cd's into if needed.

There is no more need for switches.. The powersupply that fits inside the pc does all the work for me.

It turns on automatically 10 seconds after the car turns on.. and 10 seconds after it turns off.

I also use a SSD drive (Solid state disk) that can handle any shock thrown at it because it has no moving parts similar to a jump drive.

The pc is stout.. has a touch screen and all..

So while I understand the complains people had in the past about the OP's setup.. mostly it's being spiteful.. and critical because they don't have it.. and partly it's not understanding the technology.

I have a Mini Wireless keyboard.

I love that little keyboard! Who makes it?

Also, what screen do you have?

I can't believe I'm posting to such an old azz thread, but there are also people with small laptops onboard that can do all this, along with mini computers that Jedi mentioned. Technology has continued to get decreasingly smaller in size/power/heat (e.g. - Intel Atom) since 2006.

*edit - forgot to mention that the OP did a nice custom job for back in 2006.
